Tunnel

I couldn't find the "Tunnel" last year. It used to be dressed up with lights and sounds and what not in the late 90s but I haven't found it in the last few years. I'm sure it used to be by the Glade, running under the old railway track.

Am I imagining it? Did it used to exist but not anymore? Or am I just not looking very well?

Can't find it on Glastoearth either.

Thanks

It does have a tendency to move when you are trying to find it from the Green Fields side!

It is nice, discovering it for the first time. I had plenty of time to wander whilst my mates were queuing for the paid loos.

They were supposed to be nicer, cleaned very regularly, and clean toilet paper.

Think they were decomposting loos, and located in the Greenpeace field. The girls liked them but I refuse to pay.

We used the tunnel regularly this year to avoid the madness of the railway track at night, works excellently until they start shutting off all the alternative routes onto the track the way you're trying to get through! :D Perfect if it means you don't have to hit the track at all though - saved quite a bit of time one night when a few of us were starving and needed to get to food.

We got invited to join a tunnel party as well at one point when walking through, it would have been a great idea if we weren't striding purposefully through on the way to do something (haven't a clue what it was now...). Definitely tunnel party next year! ;)

The tunnel was most helpful on Sunday night after stupidly decided to head upto Shangri La after Blur - which everyone else had also decided to do! After about 2 hours trying to get in I had to leave straight away because I was falling asleep, went a really random way home through camping fields I've never seen, through climate camp which I hadn't visited, got totally lost in the green and healing fields because there-are-no-lights-at-night-up-there (!!) and then found the almightly tunnel which got me back to sortof where I wanted to be. I heart tunnel!

    • Proper special gig tonight. They won't mean much to most people, but The Dogs D'Amour were one of the most significant bands of my youth.   Tyla, yer main man of said band, was playing in Birkenhead tonight. Not many there, but it was going fine. Then he decided he didn't like the smoke and the flashing lights so suggested moving the gig to the beer garden. Off we all went, and it was magical. Like having your favourite musician play in your garden. I absolutely loved it.   Before:     After:
