"....and we have been writing our 7th Studio Album scheduled for release in early 2010. Things are going well so far and following the success of "Dive Deep" and our world tour we are back in good spirits.

The new songs seem to be taking a Folky, Bluesy direction and we will be working with the members of our live band to bring the project to fruition."

It appears from their main myspace page they are touring this summer but so far just dates in mainland europe.

Albums 1 & 2 were pretty brilliant. Think they lost the plot a bit with the 3rd album, then the 4th was the first without Skye, but it was still ok, although I think they'd lost the magic when they played live. Then their last album was okish, loads of different vocalists on it. I make that 5 albums, not 6. What am I missing?

what you're missing is "Charango" - their 4th album, *WITH* Skye!!

I saw Morcheeba play at a tiny festival in Moseley Birmingham last summer and they were great and had everyone up and dancing about ! :( I was impressed by their musical ability.

They had a new(?) french lady singer who sounded remarkably like Skye.

Was a really great night and even the band commented how much they had enjoyed it.

If Morcheeba played this years Glasto I would definately go along to see them barring any serious clashes. :(

Fragments of Freedom was so bad I just simply stopped listening to them then!

Used to love these guys soooo much in the late 90s............But apparently with success came happiness and a change in the bands "mood" and with that came the "Pop" music....... or so thats what the Godfreys said to explain thier change in style back then..........I didnt hang around to find out if the success would in itself bring a down and as such another good album........Then when I heard Skye was given the boot I simply started to believe they dont exist.........In my mind Morcheeba were a great little band that existed from about 1996-2000........RIP my personal Morcheeba........... :P

    • Was volunteering at the Women’s Cricket World Cup at Southampton yesterday. Was great fun.
    • Definitely see this as being 'weak' on paper but could see a few bumps up from previous sets at Download (Don Broco, Neck Deep etc).
    • Very different in terms of time of game,  yet remember how excited I was before the first game in Euro 2016 having grown up not sure I would ever see wales in an international tournament. That day scraped a win against Slovakia and was just happy to see wales score and win at a tournament, little did I know we would finish in the top 4. Hope Scottish fans get the same experience.
