You can win one by citing Hitler though, it's in the rulebook. Hitler would have liked Bloc Party, so they shouldn't be headlining the Other Stage. Can we stop this thread now? ;)

Oh, buggeration! If they headline friday then I'm in a bit of a quandary - Doves or Bloc Party? I love Doves, but I saw them last week, and I've not heard any of the new Bloc Party stuff live. But I am going to a Bloc Party gig. But it's not 'til October. ARGH!!

Less of a problem if they're on sunday - I would like to see Blur because I loved them as a teenager and never got to see them, but it would mostly be for a bit of nostalgia. So I'd pick Bloc Party over them.

Yes, Doves were amazing. But Bloc Party were ace last time I saw them at Glasto. Better actually than their gig in Bristol I saw a bit before the fest that year.

Hmm. Decisions, decisions. And just when I thought I'd got my headliners sorted!

Not entirely sure what all the hate is about?

Isn't this all against the spirit of Glastonbury? I absolutely love Bloc Party, saw them last month at the Olympia and were mind-blowing.

If you don't like their stuff fair enough but to say they're untalented is unfair. Their music in my opinion is brilliant.

That said i'll probably go see the doves, but if bloc party are anything like they were when i saw them last month id seriously recommend people going to see them.

I think they've lost some of their buzz. I saw them way back, just after silent alarm and they were amazing. But then i saw them again after weekend in the city, and the atmosphere had just gone. I remember reading somewhere that doing well had gone to their heads and they were a bit "look at the lasers, aren't we good", this is exactly how i felt when i saw them a second time.

They have just lost their intensity. And I think Kele is a little off the rails now.

BP are sooooooooo not up themselves!

they are a solid band and realise that within themselves, but cocky??? oh no no no. they dont put out tripe albums. 3 different albums experimenting and increasing fanbase yes, but they are far from up themselves.

    • If you didn't see melt banana at Apolo. Go see them at the festival. Insane.
    • Interesting, and thanks for coming back to give an update! I've seen that the second stage looks bigger than usual too, looks to be a Serious Stages - Stellar Stage from distance photos.    Seems like sizing wise stages have been scaled up somewhat this year.
    • I see its cancelled now but they did leave it really late to announce plus they are up against Kelburn Garden Party Festival not to far from the festival site.
    • Easily my favourite set of the day.
