THEY... DON'T... CLASH!

Just had Kerrang radio on and the Organiser of Download was on and said that because theres so many people wanting to see them both they've made it so

So they decide to close the second stage early and no The Prodigy will play earlier and Slipknot will start 5 minutes after The Prodigy finish!!!

f**k yes we can see both!!!

of course this means The Prodigy and Marilyn Manson clash and Pendulum and Chris Cornell but you can't have everything and im sure they will overlap each other rather than be on exactly the same time if Slipknot are starting 5 minutes after The Prodigy

anyway... Great News!!!

Apparently not, and if it was it would only be low second stage

Black Tide better not have pulled out though!!!

Rise To Remain self confirmed to open second stage but have said now they don't look like they're playing in that slot or even at all due to the stage finishing early, so it seems like thats what they did

It was always Manson & The Knot for me, good news for loads of peeps though. It means the crowd for Slipknot will be immense, hopefully this will inspire the guys to put on a belter. I hope it's not the same show from their last tour?

Great news, but the Crue/Faith No More clash is worse for me. if they do the same for Friday i'll be a very happy kitty.

I wonder if the 3rd and 4th stages are going to end before the main stage headliners. i know its a pig if you're not into slipknot but this year it possibly the first festival i've wanted to see all the main stage and 2nd stage headliners.

Pretty happy if this is the case, wanted to see prodigy but the knot will always win over, if its a manson prodigy clash then after 2007 there isn't a lot of competition there!! Going to be a nightmare getting between the stages though!!

cant help but think that the clash would have made it easier to actually see prodigy

last time they were at download i got there on time and i was already ten deep OUTSIDE the tent, now with this i cant see the tent even slightly holding the people wanting to see them

but its a double edged sword because i did quite want to see slipknot....oh well

    • Maybe hopeful but get Knocked Loose on the Sunday opposite the legend. Similar to the slot Turnstile had in 2022. Would be absolutely phenomenal.
    • One of my personal favourite bands at the minute - MUNA. Was very surprised not to see them booked in 2023 with their last album but hopefully they'll be around next year. Very fun new album from these guys and, as aforementioned, another standout for me at Big Weekend.
    • Absolutely second this. Were great at Big Weekend and already have a great catalogue of songs forming so far. Would love to see them on the farm!
    • A mixed first day for us. First of all, we were honestly quite shocked that there was no security check at all at the VIP entrance around 7:30 PM. No bag check, nothing. I’ve attended Primavera many times over the years and this felt surprisingly lax for an event of this size. Did anyone else experience the same?   Another disappointment was the communication regarding the weather situation. Primavera has some of the best sound systems and speaker setups in the festival world, yet somehow they were not able to make a single clear announcement explaining what was happening. Instead, people were expected to read tiny messages on screens in Mordor while thousands were left wondering what was going on. A simple and direct audio announcement would have gone a long way.   On a lighter note, this guy absolutely made my day. Sitting right in front of the Estrella Damm terrace, wearing nothing but a long-sleeve shirt, jeans and a pair of Converse All Stars, he remained completely unbothered by the rain. While everyone else was looking for shelter, he sat there wearing sunglasses, calmly watching the crowd as if he was watching a movie.   Absolute main character energy!
    • I think my party got pretty lucky last night, at least compared to some of the horror stories over on Reddit. I was very impressed with Father John Misty in particular.   Perhaps my view would be different if I were a big Massive Attack fan or whatever, but right now my feeling is that if it's not safe for the shows to go ahead... then it's not safe for the shows to go ahead. I'd much rather they were cautious than roll the dice when it comes to something like that.    Here's hoping everyone has a better day today.
