I do a load of sit ups in the morning...just doing 50 at the mo' but hoping to rise it.

Im also lending my mums 'stepper' as of tomorrow ;) so will be doing that of an evening.

Well I have been trying to lose weight/get fit/tone up and have failed miserably  I have been eating healthy food most of the week but then ruin it with something like a dominoes (right now) or a bottle of wine. I keep moaning about putting on weight and my partner has just gently asked me if I do realise that as women get older, their body shapes change. lol....I think he is getting a bit concerned about me! ;)

Well I have always been pretty healthy with what I eat but I just eat too much of it!!! Now the exercise is where I go wrong. I just can't motivate myself. I did go and get the pizza from the ground floor though when it got delivered!!! ;)

Chill out on saturday and enjoy your kids party. Sounds like itll be fun!

I started to do some more walking a few weeks ago in preperation for glasto, that has somehow now spiralled into a gym membership and me going every morning before work. I think I'm addicted. Hopefully it will have had some effect by glasto time (if I keep it up)

I tried spinning for the first time tonight..I'm sore already..

It's great to hear glasto is a motivation for others too!

Not really getting fit as the destination ruins the benefit but got my new walking boots which i need to adjust to and there is a pub about a mile and a half away at the other side of where i live so get some practice in take a walk over have a pint walk back home.

Its about all over training body mind and well liver excellent practice for making runs to the brothers bar.

Have not exercised in years B)

I asked Mr Piltons sis if she fancied a couple of night's of doing some knid of activity, and she's up for it, so we just have to decide what we feel like doing.

I dislike running, but love to walk, back in the day I used to live about a 10 mins walk from the Tor and I used to climb it every morn before the school run ( it aslo became a bit of a tradition to climb it after xmas lunch  not sure what that was all about ), I am inspired to at least do a litle something in preparation for Glasto now B) *she says taking a sip of wine*

Count me in too, I am already a gym member but fail to get there these days! Lost loads a few years ago and went from a size 16 to a 10 just by exercise as it totally changed my slow metabolism. However regained most of it again when I went off work due to stress, then I lost my mum and depression soon followed ....18 months later I lost my dad and since then I have struggled to motivate myself to do anything, let alone the gym.

Encouragement needed please!

I'm in too!!

Still recovering from a knee injury after an accident over 3 months ago, I'm aiming to do at least 10ks every day on my exercise bike to build up the strength in my knee again (get knackered after walking too far and finding slopes difficult) as well as my general fitness. Have been very sad and made up a little excel spreadsheet to track my progress every day. It's a real motivator, seeing the calories that I've burnt off on my list

Well, I'm back on my New Improved Fitness plan!

I was shocked and disgusted to discover that I'd put on over 10 kilos over the festive period. Plus some more before that after last Glasto!

So, since mid-January, I've been on this new health kick thingy.

This doesn't mean that I can't splurge out on a couple of pizzas at the weekend, or a night of cocktails, or even creamy deserts... hell no!

As long as you keep for the most part to the regular exercise, and improved diet, you can't really go far off course.

The other thing is not to look at your scales for the first six weeks. Depending on your metabolism, you may not see any changes during this time, and weight can be misrepresentative of progress due to muscle/fat weight differences.

...and for Glastonbury-specific training, you can't beat walking 20 miles a day over rough terrain carrying an angry midget on your back.

I've increased the amount of alcohol I'm drinking each week in training for glasto.

Also started back at the gym, and will also add in some long walks each day closer to the time. Aim to get as much training in as I possibly can. Working and at uni, doesn't allow so much though.

i say i'll get fit for glasto every year, but never do a thing......and i'm dreadfully unfit. But i find after endless wandering on wednesday and thursday i seem to be fit enough by friday morning! or maybe it's just the winning combination of Brother's finest, a big old spliff, My Dad's Mate Alan and the electric atmosphere...either way i always manage.

only gripe i always have though, is a sore lower back by sunday evening....i guess from being stood on uneven ground watching band after band...especially in muddy years....but a trip to the healing fields on sunday afternoon helps B)
