I'd like to see Gordon Brown stop us. Even in the remotest of remotest of remote chances that the government closes down festivals this year, i'm still going to turn up to pilton. Even if its me on my tod in a field full of cows armed only with a couple of crates, a bag of skunk and an ipod

Anyone that wants to join me is more than welcome, just bring a keg to the party.

Oi! Cheeky! :)

Well lets face it, if the news is to have believed, I'd had died in a meteor strike that wiped out all life on the planet, (twice), died of SARs, Avain Flu and at least a couple of nuclear wars as well as a collider experiment that would have sucked me into a black hole. If global warming or social breakdown does not get me first! While some are certainly worthy of some coverage, none including this swine flu are worth the 24/7 coverage as a lead item.

To be perfectly honest, I'm just plain tired of the news telling me that I'm gonna die! :D

Well they will be short of masks big time if that is the case. There are 65,000,000 in the UK and the masks are only effective for about 3 hours so by that they can only protect half the population for 3 hours. Worth it? No.

It's not for the public, it will be for staff.

No, No it was meant as a compliment for the positivity. I'll be f£$ked if they think the possibility of a painful, lingering death will keep me away from Glasto. If they cancel it I'm turning up with a mix tape, the loudest Ghetto Blaster I can find in Argos and a box full of D cells (to hell with the environment if I'm going to hack and sneeze myself to death). It's like my dear old Mum used to say 'F$%k 'em Grandad, do it anyway'. See you up at the circle ( I brought the music you bring the cider and the (flu) drugs).

    • Maybe hopeful but get Knocked Loose on the Sunday opposite the legend. Similar to the slot Turnstile had in 2022. Would be absolutely phenomenal.
    • One of my personal favourite bands at the minute - MUNA. Was very surprised not to see them booked in 2023 with their last album but hopefully they'll be around next year. Very fun new album from these guys and, as aforementioned, another standout for me at Big Weekend.
    • Absolutely second this. Were great at Big Weekend and already have a great catalogue of songs forming so far. Would love to see them on the farm!
    • A mixed first day for us. First of all, we were honestly quite shocked that there was no security check at all at the VIP entrance around 7:30 PM. No bag check, nothing. I’ve attended Primavera many times over the years and this felt surprisingly lax for an event of this size. Did anyone else experience the same?   Another disappointment was the communication regarding the weather situation. Primavera has some of the best sound systems and speaker setups in the festival world, yet somehow they were not able to make a single clear announcement explaining what was happening. Instead, people were expected to read tiny messages on screens in Mordor while thousands were left wondering what was going on. A simple and direct audio announcement would have gone a long way.   On a lighter note, this guy absolutely made my day. Sitting right in front of the Estrella Damm terrace, wearing nothing but a long-sleeve shirt, jeans and a pair of Converse All Stars, he remained completely unbothered by the rain. While everyone else was looking for shelter, he sat there wearing sunglasses, calmly watching the crowd as if he was watching a movie.   Absolute main character energy!
    • I think my party got pretty lucky last night, at least compared to some of the horror stories over on Reddit. I was very impressed with Father John Misty in particular.   Perhaps my view would be different if I were a big Massive Attack fan or whatever, but right now my feeling is that if it's not safe for the shows to go ahead... then it's not safe for the shows to go ahead. I'd much rather they were cautious than roll the dice when it comes to something like that.    Here's hoping everyone has a better day today.
