Defiance, Ohio - The Fear, The Fear, The Fear

About 25 minutes in length. Fast paced, mainly acoustic punk, with strings. Really good listen.

Circle Takes the Square - As The Roots Undo

Genuinly good screamo. If you don't like the genre, give this a try. It may surprise you

Orbital: Snivilisation.

Awesome album and the political commentry in it is a brilliant finishing touch, if your not a fan of electronica then be prepared to be converted.

Primal Scream: XTRMNTR

I enjoyed this album more than I did Screamadelica, it's proper intense stuff, blending euphoria with punk in such a defining way.

Arab Strap: Monday at the hug and pint

Brilliant stuff, I founed that on their debut quite alot of the tracks were inacessable, but with this one, all the tracks are flawless.

The Walkmen: You and me

A must see band live. If they do play at glastonbury, I highly reccomend you go check them out. Quality album aswell.

Pavement- Crooked Rain Crooked Rain

Their best album, really really unique low fi stuff. And if you liked this album, then check out Sonic Youths stuff too, they sound quite similar to Pavement.

Hope this helps.

Did you go see them at Brighton Concorde 2? If so I was there!

If that band doesn't become massive by 2012 then I will be amazed, but then again some things are best kept secret, I've seen some bands have brilliant albums to start off with, but as they gradually become mainstream and famous, their albums gradually become shitter (See Kings Of Leon).

no but I saw them at the scala in london a month or 2 ago so I guess part of the same tour? His voice is astonishing I think. Did they do In The New Year near the beginning at your gig? He puts so much into that song I am amazed he can carry on with the gig!

ok, not exactly a glasto band but..

new mastodon cd, Crack The Skye, is bloody awesome.

Its heavy but has layers and layers of melodies and nice complex bits :(

I was a fan before, but this is something else, the clean vox make such a difference over the previous growl.

anyone who likes proggy stuff shud check it out :)

dredg - leitmotif

they have another two albums which are also absolutely amazing. leitmotif is a fair bit heavier, and my favourite, but may not be for everyone

Converge - Jane Doe

My favourite "metal" album ever.

Elle Milano - Acres of Dead Space Marines

The best British "indie" album since Arctic Monkeys' debut.

The Decemberists - Picaresque

Everyone should own this.

Explosions in the Sky - Those Who Tell the Truth Shall Die, Those Who Tell the Truth Shall Live Forever

And this
