Ticket Day!

One of my very best friends is in need of a ticket on April 5th. I TOLD her when she needed to get it but she didn't listen... and now it looks like it might be VERY tricky to get them. Unfortunatley she won't be 18 in June so she can't go the working route, but I'd be heartbroken if she can't make it.

We have about 7 people who can be on phones and the internet at the same time, and I will be checking out back door links here... but what do people think are the chances? And how do back door links actually work? Are they always genuine or could it be some fraudy thing? What time should we get online to have the best chances, earlier than 9?

I guess it's just luck really. I haven't had a horrible ticket situation myself. Last year, first time I went, we were trying for hours on that Sunday in April, then I cried a lot because I thought we weren't going to get them, and it turned out they barely sold out...

Thanks everyone and sorry for the many questions!!

Sounds like you've got the right kind of plans in place really, on sale day back in october they were released at 830 so worth being on the case by then, if someone posts a link on here its cos they're genuinely trying to help. wouldn't say its going to be easy but the more lines you have available the greater the chance.

aaw, great that she has so many people working on it

fairly strong chances, well stronger.

All the backdoor links on here that i have used have been genuine, not sure how much they do to be honest; at best they get you through a little quicker at worst they make you feel better.

Get online around 7, they've been released that early in the past, perhaps earlier if you can muster it

good luck to her

Firstly do get online early. Back in November the links were live around an hour before the stated time.

Keep an eye on the boards here, as any "live" advice is pretty sure to be posted as it happens.

Unlikely that any fraudduleent sites would be posted on efests, be keep your wits about you.

And finally make sure everyone has fingers and toes crossed !

Good luck !

Sounds like you have everything in place, so really its just down to luck. Just make sure you are all online early & if you dont manage to get a ticket dont be searchin other unofficial websites they tend to be scams, which I found out last year when I bought a day ticket for leeds.

I'm in the same boat - late decision to go this year so missed the original sale. But I don't think you'll have too much problem hopefully, especially with the amount of people you have trying to help. As others have said if you keep your eyes on these boards then you'll get any tips/tricks/cheats as soon as they appear. Plus the credit crunch and the resulting lack of expendable cash for a lot of people means I reckon there won't the deluge on the phones/website that there has been in previous years (he said hopefully).

Failing that, even if you don't manage it on the Sunday there will inevitably be another (smaller) resale later in April or even at the beginning of May. Just keep your eyes peeled.

The ticketing system is a server application. You cannot "keep" server applications locally. When the server gets overloaded, having a page loaded from when it wasn't overloaded isn't going to help.

I've been building this stuff, professionally, for 10 years. Quit whilst you are only so far behind.

I think with 7 of you, you'll be ok! Just keep trying.

The "backdoor" links are just shortcuts, its a bit like

1) Homepage of seetickets with link to glastonbury (www.seetickets.com)

2) Glastonbury page with link to "buy tickets" (www.seetickets.com/g2009 for example)

3) Page asking which type of ticket you want (campervan, normal etc)

4) Page where you put in your reg numbers

Using the "backdoor links" you might start at step 3 or 4, rather than trying for ages to get onto page 1, and then page 2...
