This will be our first Glasto, but i can't get the whole day off work on Thursday to come, and i wanted to get us a reasonable spot for the two tents. As i don't live to far away, i have managed to make time available for me to get there on Thursday at abouy 9 am, to pitch the tents, then after work we will get there about 6pm. I understand i will get a Pass out to get back in at the gates, but how will this affect my car park ticket will i be allowed back in with the car again?

It may only be a half hour drive under normal circumstances, but be warned that it could take you considerably longer than that to get on to the site, as traffic will be heavy. Also bear in mind that the site and the roads round it operate a one-way system and that as most traffic will be heading towards the site on the Thursday, the one-way system is set up for the majority of traffic heading in that direction, so it could also take you quite a while to get off and away from the site too.

Good luck!

Given the one way system on Thursday, would it be worth parking somewhere with a shuttle into the site - Castle Cary, Bristol, I think there are a few others... Otherwise how do you get out?! Also deardo's suggestion is good - all nighter on Wednesday then sleep it off at work!

Thanks for all the advice...i will have to go with a very early arrival on Thursday, its my only option as going Wednesday is out of the question, its just my job thats the pain, and given that jobs are hard to find at the moment, i don't want to chance losing this one. :P

Last year we yet off from sunny scotland about 7am with the hope of getting there about 4pm, unfortunately we broke down on the motor way which meant we didnt get there till about 10pm. It was about 11pm by the time we made it up to the camping area by the stone circle and there was hardly any camping spaces left :P luckily we had the worlds smallest tent and managed to cram it in. Mind you we probably could have gotten a better spot if we spent more time looking or where prepared to go elsewhere. Basically what im saying is that you may not get the perfect spot but there is plenty spaces for all

    • If you didn't see melt banana at Apolo. Go see them at the festival. Insane.
    • Interesting, and thanks for coming back to give an update! I've seen that the second stage looks bigger than usual too, looks to be a Serious Stages - Stellar Stage from distance photos.    Seems like sizing wise stages have been scaled up somewhat this year.
    • I see its cancelled now but they did leave it really late to announce plus they are up against Kelburn Garden Party Festival not to far from the festival site.
