WEATHER 2009 !

crikey boys and girls, the temperatures are really hotting up now, prepare to get very sweaty. Metcheck, who surprisingly are normally quite consistent and conservative with temperatures but nothing else, have forecast mid 20's all the way through the fest. Jackone is forecasting mid to high 20's. The BBC mid 20's.

Bear in mind (and I think all forecaster are aware of this) that this weeks hot spell could easily climb to the low to mid 30's if conditions change for the even better!

I think with the amount of humidity storms are more or less gauranteed but panic ye not, theres no forecasts of persistent rain. Maybe a one or two 10 min thunder/lightning downpours but nothing more.

At present 2005 it isn't.

Let's face it. Jackone's scoring it a 6 at the moment which, even now, is an improvement on last years 2. And last year wasn't all that bad. The rain stopped at just the right moment and the sun dried up the mud in quick fast time. The thunderstorm risk is a slight worry but no more than that at the moment. The next two or three days should tell us for sure.

Looks like its going to be v hot carrying all the stuff from the car parks to the camping spots!

I'm torn between thinking the forecasts look fantastic (and they are for the first few days of the festival), and being very concerned about the talk of thundery showers, reminds me of Friday morning in 2005. At least if there's some heavy downpours on the Sunday, it won't matter too much.

Am I the only person whondering about the safety of being outside during thunder storms?

This may be silly but you hear about golfers getting struck all the time and I've seen video of a group of people being struck playing football. I stayed in my tent in 2005 because it was early but if people were watching a band in front of the pyramid when it got hit would it have been dangerous?

    • I was also at Ghost but seated. When they scanned my ticket's and they came up as seated they printed a small ticket with the seat number info.
    • I was standing for Ghost at O2 London last year where they put the phone in a pouch beforehand so I assume they're is a mechanism in place for people in seats.
