Just come back from holiday. While away, heard the news about Voivod. Cue another 'no way!' moment for me. Yet ANOTHER band I thought I'd never see potentially playing Download, to join up with Faith No More, Karma To Burn, Journey, ZZ Top, Lawnmower Deth, etc.

Couldn't care less if Jason Newsted performs with them or not - they were a kick ass band before he joined Voivod, and still are even if he doesn't perform with them live.

I'm basically praying for the following bands to be announced and i'll be the happiest guy alive:

Fear Factory:

See other thread, playing festival in Spain week after Download

Children of Bodom:

Nice gap in their summer festival tour dtaes for a slot at Download.

In Flames:

Although appeared last year, they should do something in the UK after cancelling their UK & Ireland dates set to take place in May. A Download appearnance would be just what the fans want!

All That Remains:

Gap in tour for a slot at Download. Playing Rock AM and Rock IM week before.

Just wanted to update people on this.

There is another thread going around that Fear Factory are appearing at Metalway Festival in Spain on June 21st.

However, it is NOT the Fear Factory with Christian & Raymond, its this new band mentioned in Metalhammer consisting of:

Burton C Bell (Vocals)

Dino Cazares (Guitar)

Byron Shroud (Bass)

Gene Hoglan (Drums)

The MetalHammer article states that the band is "untitled". Well, I guess they are going by the name FEAR FACTORY!!

Interesting Stuff. Hope they appear at Download.

The news about Dino/Burton/Byron/Gene is awesome if it leads to a Fear Factory reunion of sorts, though would have preferred the original line-up. Can't complain too much with Gene on drums though, one of my favourite drummers of all time. Seems to kick ass whichever band he plays in (Dark Angel, Death, SYL, Dethklok et al).

Also on a major doom kick at the moment, Cathedral and Electric Wizard would be bloody great at this fest too. Wouldn't pass up Entombed either!

Incidentally, Darkest Hour have just set a release date of June 23rd for their new album. A possible rumour for Download based on that announcement, you would think.

They have

playing Saturday main stage quite early afternoon

Friday 3rd stage has two new acts as well

I presume that these will all be in the 18 band announcement on Monday night

They may as well do the day/stage splits as its been reported from the forums with the next announcement

I actually wasn't a big fan of Therapy? until about a month ago - my brother finally got me into them. Like their older stuff more than the new stuff, would like to check them out though as they are a band I haven't seen yet.

I have a feeling some certain bands mainly US bands that are coming over here around the time will be added... New Found Glory (doing 2 dates a little before Download in the UK) Bleeding Through and Darkest Hour (doing Thrash And Burn tour, probably go for Download too)

I still see Spineshank are rumored on here, which is disappointing, because i got a reply from them the other day saying they aren't coming over because they are recording the new album, but aim to be back in the UK end of the year beginning of next. Damn! =[
