thelineofbestfit.com just posted the best review of the album ive read

i'll spare you cutting and pasting the whole review, you can read it here if you want.

but a couple of snippets for you

"How can I make you buy it? Well, if you made a mixtape of all your favourite Doves songs thus far, well, this is better than that really rather fine CD."

thats a very, very bold statement that, not sure i agree

but this is the best summation ive read

"The album does feel, at first, like it sags a teensy bit in the middle BUT if you go check out those songs on their own, they’re amazing. It’s just that the first and last thirds are titannically good."

love it :P

assuming Doves are indeed headlining the JP on friday, after listening to NY new album it has made my mind up for me - definitely Doves over NY.

Thanks Neil for making that stinker of an album :D:D

:D the f**king w*nkers get everywhere :D

i was just watching a few performances on the JP from last year on youtube

i havent been up there for years (for a couple of reasons - but mainly the carnage up there caused by the downpours of 05 & 07) so thought id reaquaint myself with it.

before i started viewing the 1 thing i thought that would be guaranteed for the doves gig was that i would at least be able to see the stage without an impeded view.

but low and behold, whether it be the ting tings, or the reverend, or mgmt, or the cribs, or the whip there are a couple of enourmous tools in there with their f**king flags

i tell you, even with the feeling of peace and love that decends on me during glastonbury, if i have to put up with a c**t waving his flag in front of me during doves, that twat better hope theres a dentist on site :)

feels better to have got that off my chest :D

So Doves same time as Neil Young from what a few of you are writing? I'll be so happy if this is the case, as NY is pretty cack :D

Only thing i'm a bit worried about is the sound in the JP. For The Cribs last year it was absolutely shocking, it ruined their whole set. It did seem better for Spiritualized on the Sunday evening but a band like Doves really need that good sound!!

listening to the manchester XFM exposure session and in the interview about 10.03 jimi & andy drop a bombshell

apparantly, somewhere out there, is a chemical brothers mix of 10.03. your mission, fellow doves fans, is to find it!!
