Open'er 2009

I assumed the bands were Thu-Sunday but the website says the campsite only opens on the Friday at noon.

Needing to decide what days to book my flights for.

thanks a lot, klaudys. especially glad about everything you said about campsite (the fact that people with one day tickets don't get there, and about the booze, haha).

shame that CSS ain't gonna be there, but current line-up is pretty decent anyway and I hope few good artists are gonna be added.

my first open'er, but really looking forward to it.

Can't believe the lack of interest in this considering the prices and line up!

Flights are a bit steep from Glasgow - Gdansk and the times are awful. Looking at flying out from Liverpool and flying back to Prestwick possibly. Are there still a lot more names expected to be added? Does anyone have a list of last years line up.

been to summercase in madrid last couple of years, but as its not happening this year considering open'er as the price for 4 days is amazing and the line-up is looking great. not sure about flights, looking into it but from scotland only seems to be from glasgow prestwick to gdansk, is gdansk very close to the festival site? And wondered if anyone had any info on best places to stay if we didn't want to camp? are there hotels and bars etc near the beach? or is there nothing else to do in that area other than the festival? any answers to these questions or similar info would be much appreciated, cheers!

to get from Gdansk airport to the festival site you have to take bus to Gdynia and then free buses for festival goers take you to the venue, easy to get there

Im flying to Szczecin then getting a five hour train.

Couldnt resist the 54 pound return flights.

Havent got festival tickets yet.

When do these usually sell out??

By the way, The Ting Tings just canceled their performance at Latvian festival ''Positivus AB'' ( http://www.positivusfestival.com/news/?id=206 information hasn't been posted in English yet, but it's kinda official), they were supposed to play on July 17. Hope they're still coming to Poland.

Tring to find previous lineups is proving very difficult!!

Do they ever get many dance acts on? The bands are looking really impressive but it would be nice to see a few top name DJs playing as well. Is the whole festival atmospher pretty band orientated or does the party go on long into the night?

The poles like there, ahem, culture. Plenty of them getting cultural last year, even though the odd guard was checking bags last year, it was mainly for booze. The poles in the next tent to us has a lovely purple vase with metal attachments that they bought with them.

i got return flights for £56 to Szczecin with ryanair.

wee train adventure to get there but thats what its all about.

oh and train drinking!

Still don't understand though why Lily and Santigold are both going to perform on sunday? Not it's Kings of Leon, Lily Allen, Placebo, Santigold, Prodigy, Ting Tings for the last day of the festival, while saturday is left with only one ''big name'' (White Lies). But anyway, looks great.

I'm loving White Lies at the moment, looking forward to seeing them. You never know, they may have more top acts to announce for the Saturday, heres hoping, the line up has really impressed me so far
