ashcoates
Never seen any of them, want to see all of them. and even though I'm not most excited about seeing him, I've got a feeling that Bruce Springsteen is going to my "Epiphany Moment" of Glastonbury, after which I'll love him forever! beergut100
I'd like to see all 3 for different reasons. I've always quite liked Blur and did see them in their prime. I've always quite liked Neil Young, who I have evocative memories of - Heart of Gold was played at a mates funeral, and he is my brothers favourite artist. My brother is also an accomplished musician and does a more than passable Neil Young tribute. I never used to like Springsteen, because I didn't get him. I thought that "Born in the USA" was gung ho patriotism, for example, and didn't get the irony. Since I have learned he is a lefty and, by all accounts, a very nice chap indeed, I have a new respect for him - plus I think he will put on a ruddy good show! I'll probably miss all of them of course
ivan
The Boss...will be up there with McCartney as most historic Glasto act
micawber
Best .... what? Anyway, if they were football teams, Springsteen and Young are Premier Division, and Blur are Division 1 (or Division 3 as we used to call it), e.g. good team compared to average but never likely to win the FA Cup. ashcoates
I did not think it was historic !
ivan
Surely everything from the past is historic? sorry!

ivan
Just watch one of the versions of "Spirit in the Night" on Utube man. I had a Bruce "epiphany" myself. A musical road-to-damascus! The man is remarkable. It'll be a show that will never be forgotten and easily the equal of canonical classic glasto shows like Radiohead 97, Faithless 02 and Macca 04. Wooderson
Your post was excellent until you mentioned Macca ! Never really got into Bruce apart from dancing to Born in The USA at 18th Disco's all those years ago , but I am looking forward to seeing him. Unlike Macca !!!! ivan
Did you watch Macca in '04 Ivan? "Penny Lane" that night was one of the coolest things ive ever seen or heard at a live show.
Wooderson
No , I went to see Basement Jaxx ! They were excellent. I do feel a bit sorry for Macc tho. He will say , here is one from my new album and everyone f**ks off to the bar , they just wanna hear Hey Jude etc. My favourite Beatles tracks are the Husker Du covers (they are top ) Weird thing is I love Venus and Mars , and believe you should never like what your parents like , my dad was a huge Queen fan , but I cannot stand em , but my dad had Venus and Mars and that album has never left me ! Strange ain't it !. Looking forward to Bruce tho , only Faithless or Interpol could keep me away from him. If its the Kaisers Chiefs I know Mr Eavis has listened to my prayers and put a bunch of Leeds tossers up against The Boss !
VCK
Blur. I mean, I appreciate Neil Young and Springsteen but I don't really listen to them. Blur, on the other hand, are one of the finest bands this country has produced.

VCK
On the whole though, they are pretty odd choices for headliners in that they all appeal to a more older crowd. I thought there'd be a "newer" headliner in a similar vein to KOL, The Killers or Arctic Monkeys, one which would draw a younger crowd. OneLittleFish
In this order: 1 - Neil Young 2 - Blur 3 - Bruce Springsteen But then again, a festival has to be going some for it to be even possible to consider The Boss as the weakest headliner (or any of those names for that fact)

OneLittleFish
Especially considering he isnt the weakest headliner. Its personal preference clearly, and your acting like your opinion is the only one.
irons
If you were to add the words "In my opinion" before everything in a thread based on peoples opinions, it wouldn't read well, would it?
benisright
Oh for f**ks sake, of course I was talking about personal opinion - it's a thread where you're supposed to give your own opinion. If you were to add the words "In my opinion" before everything in a thread based on peoples opinions, it wouldn't read well, would it?
