it's just the media grasping the wrong end of the stick as usual and just making the turning on of the machine seem a bigger deal than it actually is. Wouldn't be surprised if the media lose interest by the time the proper experiments start.

Thanks teach.

I was referring to the in and out of existence phenomenon that occurs at a low level and is affected by being conscious of it. I'm not, as you perhaps thought, arguing that things only exist when we are conscious of them and that all physical properties are relative entirely to human experience and epistemology, though that was my reserved line for if and when things got too heavy in here. But for now, just the phenomenon thingy.

There's also the consideration of how long it'll be before they process all the results. Im sure people were expecting them to do some collisions today and then have the results ready for the six o'clock news tonight. What do we reckon? Next September at the earliest? Still bloody exciting though - even in terms of succeeding in accelerating some protons round a 27 KM track 11,000 times a second!! And then the other way!

That's pretty heavy! Will this sort of experiment benefit this planet in anyway or is it just a matter of 'ok so now we know what the planet is made of' end of story sort of thing?

Sorry for all the questions but I watched it this morning hoping a dummies explanation of what was going on was going to be given but it was way over my head!

    • I'm surprised they risked it, especially after nearly missing their Glasto 22 slot under similar circumstances  I did see someome say Ellie didnt sound as strong as recently but I'm guessing playing 3 shows in 2 different continents doesnt help that    On the topic though I can definitely see them doing a Fontaines and having a break over winter before a few final Clearing shows next summer
    • That's fair on WA - I did recall people thinking Fontaines would take this year off before this was announced.    On the subject of Wolf Alice, they did Lollapalooza in Chicago on Saturday then Kendal Calling last night. Bit of an odd choice, no? Half imagine at Kendal that they would've been just exhausted.
    • Just logged onto the app to start planning my days and there really are a LOT of stages missing. Apart from the Seaside Stage there is no Casemates this year etc. Apart from the Seaside Stage, there are no Casemates this year, etc. Can't see anything about the kids field really. And there's local acts that are normally there like Kojak's Revenge that aren't appearing either.  Normally we get down fairly early but I can't see anything before 3pm I'm keen to see. Only one real clash as well, which is good, but it's thin and it's not thin in the sense of "I've seen a lot of these acts before"
