I really hope it’s not the case. It’s a great club, but they do seem to be swimming against the tide. There’s nothing else of that scale in Bristol / South Wales either. We’re drowning in shitty tech house in Wales. As a positive they’re announcing their schedule for the new year this Monday coming. Hoping to head over for a night or two as I haven’t managed any since they’ve reopened.

Not sure Wales have the worst outcome but it does suggest that vaccine passports and masks aren’t silver bullets. When pubs, clubs, venues and stadiums are open as normal you’re going to get an increase in infections. Passports or not. I think it’s a bit of an empty threat in all honesty. Drakeford is a professor. He’s not stupid, and will know the rates are dropping in the rest of the U.K.

America is undoubtedly a corporate hell hole for music fans, but some of the ticket prices in the U.K. are catching up. Nearly £100 for SHM is insanity.

Just got back from For Those I Love in Bristol. It felt so raw at times it was uncomfortable to watch; like you were intruding on something deeply personal. Absolutely incredible. I really feel like the record will be cult classic in the future. It’s criminally under exposed.

I felt much the same about it. My friend wacked on some random episodes when we were severely hungover and I just thought it was a lot of shite on Dave. However since then I watched a series in order and it just clicked with me. The series build over time and you get to know the tropes of the series, the silliness of the tasks, and the real blend of contestants some taking it seriously and some not giving a fuck. It seems to be a format that gives some genuine spontaneous laughs, which is outside of tired panel shows.

Started watching ladhood on iPlayer. Great concept having the 30 year old narrator in the scenes with his teenage self. Very funny and cutting at the same time, though it’s prompting a mini existential crisis in me every episode.

It’s most likely an error. Either that or a full tour announcement is incoming, there’s no inbetween. It’s very unlikely she’d just announce a Roskilde date and nothing else.

This is part of the problem. I don’t think there is any compelling evidence that this will make people have the vaccine. The people who are hesitant may in fact be more resistant when it seems that their being coerced into having a vaccination to engage in society. It may actually be counterproductive. At least the Welsh version allows for a negative LFT, so you can at least argue that it’s a law aimed at reducing the infection rate and protecting others who are vulnerable.

Thoroughly enjoyed squid game when I’ve been off work sick this week. Season 2 of Love on the spectrum on Netflix has been a nice balm for the soul too. Like the undatables but better produced.
