  1. It's technically possible to fire up say 100,000 Azure VMs and have a script recognise the booking page and populate ref numbers and postcodes, but it would be fraught with risk.....what are See tickets doing to detect??...you can't test your scripts because you don't know the actual format of the booking page...also what payment method do you use? If all the same card it would be spotted, if different cards then people would have to hand over all their details. Large up front cost of setting up system with a high probability of failure. Easier to just rope in 100 humans, particularly on the first sale where you don't immediately pay.
  2. Got the last of our group a ticket....
  3. Mine is a large white faux fur coat from Oxfam (bought for £20) in mid 2000's. Worn it at every festival since.
  4. My favourite bit is just sitting watching people walk past and having random conversations. My favourite was at 2am talking to a guy carrying a large water cube....I said "You spoil that Goldfish". He immediately picked up the joke and said "Yeah, he loves it here, comes every year"....his girlfriend coming up behind him couldn't understand why we were talking about Goldfish.

    Shangri La

My view is that if I've heard of them they must be on their last legs.....the 0.1% includes Craig Charles (presumably on Thursday afternoon!) which is always a great start to the festival!
  6. Nothing here - 4 of us trying....

    Avalon 2024

Perfect size venue. I would happily spend my Glastonbury time between Park, Avalon and T&C

    Avalon 2024

I used to see Nick Heywood (or is it Heyward?) in Waitrose in Henley. He played as one of the acts in the town musical advent calendar. Good sing along stuff....
  11. It will be a yellow US school bus on fire 🙂 The gas cannisters on board are likely to rival Arcadia!
  12. 1) Just managed to get my US school bus through it's MOT. 2) Made a massive phone charger/ 240v supply from an old eBike battery and various buck converters, charger and inverters. Connects from anything to anything!
  13. They fill up the East fields clockwise. I have turned up on Thursday and it was fine. No further to walk than when we have turned up Wednesday.
  14. 4 SeeTickets Team members have joined the meeting. SeeTickets Support: "We've been inundated with calls from people saying they clicked on the link we sent them link but now their registration has disappeared" SeeTickets IT Director: "Yikes. We must have deleted a load of registrations even though people confirmed them." SeeTickets Manager: "So how are we going to fix it? The sale goes live this evening...." SeeTickets IT Director: "Don't worry we'll merge all the deletions back into the database. It can't be that hard. I'm sure we have a backup and all the transactions logs from the last few months" SeeTickets Database Admin: "Oh f**k" SeeTickets Database Admin has left the meeting
  15. They will deliver even if you are not there. You give the delivery guy a credit card number and location (and leave the empty one visible)
  16. Let me answer my own question! Festival Gas 07930758893 can replace a 6kg Propane to a What3words location in East 17 for £35. Excellent service!
  17. I suspect the answer is no, but does anyone know if it's possible to buy/refill a 6kg calor gas tank in CVE?

    Pilton Park

Found an old 1930 OS map of the site. I didn't know that the site was known as Pilton Park.
  20. I arrived on Thursday afternoon last year. No queue and ended up in E14. There were only a couple rows filled up after us and there was plenty of space free. Left on Monday afternoon and again no queue.
  21. The issue with any tech solution is that if it goes wrong, it can go wrong big time for everyone all at same time. With physical paper and wristbands you can do manual workarounds (for example double wristbanding in 2005 floods) or telling punters whose tickets were misdelivered to pick up a tixket at gate A. Also you are open to unexpected attacks.... so if I knew there was an Ethernet cable I could cut or a generator I could turn off, I might do so in the hope that everyone would be waved in. Simple physical solutions are often the best ones.
  22. Right by your van! You can create your own shower quite easily. 10 litre container with a kettle of boiling water is enough for a warm 4min shower using a Whale immersion pump, 12v battery, outdoor changing tent and an old shower head...
  23. Last year we arrived on Thursday PM and unsurprisingly there was zero queue to get in! My question is is.... When does the traffic/queue going into CVE subside? Are there queues all of Tuesday PM? When does it quieten down on Wed?
