  1. Like everyone here, all was lined up. This Sunday we would have been in several locations on different connections. On 19th we’ll all be in deepest Kernow on the home connection, which has a v low success rate over the last 16 years. I think it’s got tickets twice. Hey ho……

    2024 Headliners

Sorry for the reminiscence in the wrong thread, but just found these 2 photos from the Sunday that year (2009). We saw this sign outside a kind of tea tent place along the top by where Glastonbury on Sea is now. And the other picture is the people in the tent. We had to have some Magic Punch ourselves. And then we missed Tom Jones legend set for some reason 🙂 The punch was great!

I will be trying for tickets for other dates, but a return to Glastonbury would be absolutely incredible. I started off thinking no, leave it, been there done that. But if he comes back and the “I ❤️ Sausages” flag is not directly in front of me this time, I will be a very happy person indeed.

He did “get” Glastonbury, in fact there was a Joe Strummer link, a handwritten letter, etc., etc. and he opened with Coma Girl. That album was not a classic, but I am glad I saw Outlaw Pete live, even if nobody else is!! For me that set is right up there in my top 5 G sets out of 16 festivals attended since 1987, but I accept there are a range of POV.

What is GSH? Sorry if it’s obvious
  6. Also seen 12, 7 good, 5 shite ratio for me.
  7. Sting was great at Cardiff Castle earlier this year. As I’ve seen the show I can go see something else instead, leaving space for whoever needs it 🙂

    2024 Headliners

The younger generation NS family members are asking who “the nerds” (affectionate term for Efests people) have as likely 2024 headliners currently. How do I answer?
  9. Anybody done a Spotify for 27th? There’s one labelled as 27th but it’s the songs from 26th. daughter was there and loved it!!
  10. Did anybody get a video of Angel Olsen doing Without You? There are other versions on YouTube but I want this years EOTR to see if my singing added or subtracted from the magic 😂
  11. Lots of fun! But not drunk fun. I did drink proper beers all night Sunday, but was in bed by 130am. No longer a late night person it seems. Hey ho
  12. At the opposite end for me, the non music discovery of the weekend was the Zero IPA on Draft. Drank more of that than anything else. Really delicious. Alternated I’m the evenings with Ale. No hangover, no dehydration. It’s a “new normal” for me 🙂
  13. Also know lots of the words Robbie 👍 Spice Girls 👎 just my vote!
  14. There’s probably some guy swearing to his boss he brought everything back from Glastonbury and forgetting he’d left one load behind!
  15. And is there really no late night comedy or just not on the Clashfinder yet? Last year we were watching Alistair Green at 23:34 on the Friday night and he had only just started. Looks like the Comedy Line up only came out 3 weeks prior last year, so I guess we may get something any day now 🙂
  16. Is “The Folly” the permanent thing in the Garden Stage field? Where they do (or did?) the silent disco from? Actually it can’t be, as there’s acts on both at the same time. So where is it? I can’t see it on the map? By a process of deduction, I guess The Folly is what I think of as the Tipi stage.
  17. I always think "maybe another mast", or even "maybe someone will put a temp mast up". Normally when I wake up in the morning all the messages/WA have arrived overnight, so I guess some of it is related to how many people are active? Anyway, it's small enough you can always find your friends/family and it's a bit of a detox from work emails, etc.
  18. Cam is stuck at an image from yesterday evening
  19. Sorry, I meant some think it’s changed beyond recognition, not that it is any kind of arena event. Agreed, it’s not anything like an arena event
  20. It would certainly be unrecognisable, some say it is that already but I’m not in that camp. A change to an arena festival would be awful in my opinion.
  21. They probably do, but currently the density of those is so much lower that I bet it’s still 80%+ inside. I read an interview with ME a fair few years ago where he predicted that over the coming 10/15 years there would be a move to prepitched in general. We discussed it in here at the time I think.
  22. Without being too rude, those people are now further back in the field largely and far less likely to be able to lob a mud ball any kind of distance!
  23. That could be quite funny! It’s a sort of easy target and even that article shows he’s had to massage the facts to make some of the jokes - nobody gets their own food confiscated - but if I was going to Edinburgh for the Fringe it would be on my list.
