  1. Forgot to say Cornish Arms in my list! Usually has Tribute as well, not strong but v nice. Pubs gone a bit dancey/DJ noisy but if its dry, which it will be, its a good place to get a beer and hang around outside or go along and listen to Leftfield from
  2. Yes, it’s great there are so many to choose from, because this reminds me that I really don’t need to go there. I never liked it as Beat Hotel and don’t think I have been in/around it as San Remo, maybe to grab a pint while passing. Love Avalon, Cockmills, Bread and Roses. Ridge and Furrow. Going to try Tricketts (always seems to be a Q) and Tap House this year. But, the best pub is The Bimble Inn!!
  3. The Tap House sounds like it has good potential, we have walked past there en route to WG before, so now maybe stop off 🙂
  4. Have also done a nice midnight to 3am slot in there a few festivals ago, take your own beers. Usually 3 Daft Monkeys and some other fun stuff happening.
  5. We were in the same line of thinking. Have had a look around and there is other stuff. One evening last year we had a fun two pint stop off at the Ridge and Furrow, there were good tunes, I think something on the stage next door. Up in the Park there’s a Guilty Pleasures set at some point. Also the pub in the Theatre bit opposite the Astrolabe was playing pretty good stuff. It will be fine 🙂

You will easily make it through. Once we went up Muddy Lane, between Acoustic and Kidney Mead, and across the top and down into the crowd. Either stay near the tree/back row (needs a bar back there by the way) or get through the “crust” and there will be space. We watched Coldplay from there and were level with the front edge of the back urinals on the left, but well into the field. Could see well, hear well, get to the loos and back and it was spot on. You’ve made me decide where to head for Elton now, thank you 🙂
  7. I know I am in an echo room here. The site looks amazing this morning. I spend an unhealthy amount of time looking at the Webcam feed every year (yes, between festivals as well) and this year seems to me to be the most perfect build up weather in living memory. I stayed out of the weather thread until 3 days ago, and even that’s looking good. Excitement levels building up now, I think MEs usual phrase about “best festival ever” is looking to be nailed on!

TWOD a can’t miss for us Happy to singalongareg from the back of the field. Giant big screens, repeater speakers, probably repeater confetti cannons, and can see the rocket man fireworks properly
  9. For us that people jam was the worst one we’ve been in at Glastonbury. Didn’t hit any of the tricky ones last year, or any in between. That Blondie one is the one we all use as a comparison.
  10. If anyone’s got a spare standing for Coldplay tonight in Cardiff I’d be grateful. My son wants to go. We saw the show in Glasgow last year and it was great. His mate has a ticket for tonight so he’s trying to see if he can find a ticket. he’s only in Bristol - is it worth going over anyway and seeing if he can find a sensible priced one outside?
  11. Any of Dans charity bins ready yet? Or does he do those elsewhere and bring them in?
  12. Hum that one for me, I haven’t got all their albums
  13. Those screen frames are HUGE. I reckon we might be getting the sort of top to bottom whole thing screens not the hanging giant TV screens. Somebody with some technical knowledge please elaborate on whether this may or may not happen….
  14. Take That just came through on an email for a few days earlier. Could that be a warm up for this slot? (I am too lazy to have actually checked they are not already doing something that day, sorry)
  15. Sadly that's my same thought, but hey, not this time 🙂
  16. Just inside the Croissant Neuf field on left as you enter the field (educated guess).
  17. Seeing the mention of bins in the SOTG thread reminded me of these. Looking forward to searching out ours in a few weeks 🙂
  18. Seems to be a “thing” to do these days. I was watching the Springsteen setlist building up the other day and it was actually quite funny to see what people were posting.
  19. Picked up Jarvis’ book in a local bookshop yesterday, signed copy! His signature is funny!! Anyway, makes me even more hopeful that they appear this year, I missed them on the secret set years ago as I’d had a bad experience at the Radiohead one the day before.
  20. Good facts! The U2 special preachy screens drove me out of the rain and into the Acoustic Tent for a great Brit Floyd set 🙂 Every time I clap a child dies….. (you know the punchline!)
  21. Miss the flares and the Chinese lanterns. I know I know I know. But I miss them. That level of mud was such a nightmare, haven’t been in the weather thread this year yet……
  22. WG has become something of a staple for us, close to our old camp spot in Kidney Mead and our more recent CV East spot. I’m sure something else around that T&C area will bubble up to fill the Guilty Pleasures, Ultimate Power type of end of evening last few pints vibe.
  23. Thanks Neil, I have been a member since the very old days when the forum was kind of integrated/linked to the official GF website. eFestivals is a critical part of my festival info, the core use being Glastonbury over the years, but it has enhanced my experience at Wychwood, Beautiful Days, End Of The Road, Chagstock, Somersault, Wilderness and probably more that I have forgotten. Also been a way to pick up tickets or share tickets as well. A huge thank you, and good luck for the future. NS
