The Hundred Monkeys cafe halfway up the High St is a regular venue for lunch when we're visiting, all the better when the sun's out and you can sit in the courtyard

The festival has many stages, and acts tend to play in slots that are appropriate to their standing/popularity. There are many acts that can headline slightly smaller festivals (The National, Pet Shop Boys, Nick Cave etc), or maybe headlined The Pyramid years ago when they were more popular than they are now, or before the festival got as huge as it currently is (New Order, The Chems etc) and are a natural shoe in to headline The Other. There is a natural order to things are Glasto, and usually they get it right. A lot of Pyramid headliners don't do much for me, but I rarely think they make poor bookings in that spot
-
That's the level they're at. When they played the Pyramid in 2017 it was to a significantly smaller crowd than the previous act (Katy Perry) and the act that followed (Foos)
-
Depends how you define 'pull it off'. I'm sure their fans would love it, but it would be in front of the smallest crowd for a Pyramid headliner for many years.

I was actually at this one, Christmas present for my parents as my dad was a fan. Would have been magic on a Sunday afternoon on the Pyramid Frank Sinatra Concert Setlist at Royal Albert Hall, London on May 28, 1992 | setlist.fm

Although there is perhaps some credence to this one given how quickly Emily refuted that these weren't the three headliners.

I wouldn’t read anything into it. He’s hardly likely to say “no, never”

Free on the Sunday, however she's playing Glasgow the Friday and Saturday, and seemingly isn't doing three on the bounce.

I meant these, which aren’t so easy to ride

That line-up certainly backs up the Guardian's claim that festival promoters are finding it difficult to book big names Festival organisers sound alarm as big-name artists shun their events | Music festivals | The Guardian

At least they have some aesthetic quality, unlike those inflatable animals etc that attention whores use

It was a good day

I remember when they were rumoured a few years back, there was a guy on another forum with connections to Pearl Jam who said they’d never play a festival where they weren’t announced early enough for their fan base to get tickets

Shane was undoubtedly one of the great songwriters, it's a pity his health impacted his ability so much, but what a body of work to leave. And the Pogues in their prime were a great night out. Saw them on the Pyramid a few times too.

Is it bollocks, it’s one of the e-fests myths. Given the small number of Sunday tickets available for locals (can’t remember if it’s 5k or 10k), I really don’t think they’re going to engineer the Sunday line up to cater for them

Agreed. My position is this; in general I feel that people should be able to enjoy a gig how they see fit, without too much interference. That said, I do wish people would have more consideration for others behind them. I do take the odd photo, but rarely hold the phone/camera above head height. I've now got an extensive library of concert photos. I'm not a fan of artists imposing a no-photography policy, and wouldn't go to one where you're expected to hand in your phone before you enter the music hall (quite rare admittedly, but it does happen). In short, don't be a dick.

Premier Events is one option. They are a legit company (albeit potentially morally dubious) offering hospitality and secondary market tickets for all sorts, including sports etc. They've been on the go for decades, (I've used them one or twice) and are not scammers. They sell Glasto hospitality tickets, but I'd imagine with a hefty mark-up Glastonbury Festival Hospitality "VIP" Experience Tickets with Premier Events

Plenty of bangers on Strong Arm of the Law. Sixth Form Girls hasn't aged very well though 😬

If they got their sh*t together, Gladys and the Pips could jump in the back of the Transit and peg it down the A303 in time for their Bournemouth gig

Be Here Now had its moments of shiteness too

Obviously I’m aware of why the sale was postponed, primarily because some people’s accounts got deleted. I’m not convinced it’s resulted in significantly more ‘new’ people attempting for tickets today
