  1. A lot of people work weekends, and it can be a right ball-ache getting time off at short notice

That Liverpool date was very unlikely to be over Glasto weekend given he’s playing Netherlands and Belgium either side of it

Dunno why you keep going back if his shows are always odd
  4. I suspect the TM one is more accurate
  5. No, it's the full stadium this time See Tickets - Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band Tickets | Sunday, 05 May 2024 at 5:00 PM
  6. Apparently Cardiff seating starts at £65, and it's £120 for standing. One odd thing (that's presumably a mistake) is that the seating plan on See shows the Cardiff show being in the round, whilst Wembley isn't

If he is doing Glasto that's an odd schedule - playing Netherlands, lugging all the band, crew and gear over here and then back to Belgium, which is next door to Netherlands
  8. Haven't seen them since the 1987 (I think) Reading Festival
  9. Sting's notoriously large ego might not see it this way

Surely Glasto can be an Oasis-free zone for two years running?

I’d be surprised if she didn’t do the big numbers on this tour. Apparently she’s doing 25 songs in full, and another 20 “will be interspersed in the two hour show as 'bridges' between the acts” She’s also going to be wearing recreations of some of her more famous outfits

Looking at some of the stats for these shows, and given how carefully choreographed the show will be, it seems doubtful this could transfer to the Pyramid without significant change: 4,400 square feet of stage, the largest for any Madonna tour. Inspired by the grid of Manhattan with Uptown, Downtown, Midtown, East and West stages.3 Layered circular stage where the traditional main stage would be, inspired by the wedding cake of Madonna's original VMA performance.230 Feet of combined length of catwalk that gets Madonna 105 feet far into the venue. 14 Spotlights for Madonna and over 600 intelligent lights to light the stage and arena with over 8800 lighting cues3600 Square feet of projection imagery to the show. The most amount of video ever used in a Madonna show.30 Feet off the ground - Madonna is transported around the arena in an illuminated portal frame that acts as a time machine allowing her to move at 1.5 feet per second, 80 feet across and 130 feet down the length of the arena designed to symbolise looking into the past, present and towards the future. 24 Onstage performers1 Extraordinary drag queen8th Tour partnering with director Jamie King1 Stuart Price reunion (producer)4 of Madonna's children on stage Madonna's 'The Celebration Tour': Everything we know (planetradio.co.uk)

Was thinking that as she has previous. So potentially nothing’s live apart from any between song banter
  14. What we need on a Sunday afternoon
  15. I think the Aerosmith dream is over. Tyler f**ked up his pipes on the 3rd date of the USA tour (I was there!), and initially they postponed and rearranged the gigs for the next 4 weeks, but now the whole tour has been indefinitely postponed. Looking on an Aerosmith forum, the general feeling is that may be that for the band, or if they do manage to honour the rest of the US tour, overseas dates are unlikely. I really hope not though, I’d love to catch them again

If AC/DC tour next year, I can't see them being bothered about a festival that pays peanuts (and which they have no allegiance to) when they can earn megabucks playing the world's stadia. It's not as if they need the exposure.
  17. I guess she could catch the midnight train to Bristol Temple Meads after her RAH show, but I'd not put any money on it
  18. In terms of current popularity in the UK, I don't see Pulp as having a significantly smaller following then The Cure, and if they can headline... Can confirm that Pulp's current production is very entertaining and would likely be a fondly remembered headline slot, even if the field wasn't completely rammed
  19. Three gigs in three days last weekend whilst visiting a very hot and humid NYC. On Friday we were at the glorious Radio City Music Hall, an Art Deco masterpiece, to see a Squeeze/Psychedelic Furs double bill. Both were in fine form, and it was the first time I’d seen the latter since they headlined the Pyramid on the Friday in 1986. Saturday saw us travel out to the UBS Arena in Elmont, Long Island, to see the mighty Aerosmith, supported by The Black Crowes. I was taken aback by how great Tyler looked and sounded given his age (75). The show was so good, and it is a shame they never did do their Glasto slot. A few days after this show Aerosmith released a statement saying that all the dates over the next 30 days were postponed as he’d damaged his vocal cords. Would have been gutted if I’d missed them. We were at MSG on Sunday for show 94 of Billy Joel’s 100 gig residency there. Our cheap-ass (not!) tickets were behind the stage, but fairly close to it and gave an amazing view. His piano swivelled around regularly so he rarely had his back to us. I’m not a huge fan, but it was a top notch concert, banger anfter banger, and his pipes are in fine form - much much better than the likes of Macca, Reg etc. Get him on the farm whilst he still has the voice.
  20. Saw him do a couple of songs at the 'Music for Montserrat' show that George Martin put together at the RAH in 1997. Can't say I was aware of his music prior to that
  21. Looking forward to your next contribution to this Glastonbury forum
  22. Great guitarist. Wish I'd seen that classic Whitesnake lineup, before the hair metal years.
  23. I'm sure if he was offered the Legends slot, Rodney would jump at the chance and bring out all the bangers (and Woody too!) irrespective of what he's said about not playing them
