  1. London warm-up date for The Hotelier please i'm BEGGIN I just want to scream sing along to Your Deep Rest and I don't want to have to get a train to Manchester to do it.
  2. Not a huge fan, but do we think there's any chance Nicki Minaj could be a big late addition to the line-up? Not outside of Prima's genre comfort zone and she's just announced a European run with a gap on 29/05, 30/05 and 01/06 and no Spanish dates at all - https://www.nickiminajofficial.com/tour/ Possibility? Maybe if I say she's going to collab with Massive Attack, The Smile and Slowdive? Maybe Win Butler will be there?
  3. Jesus Christ. My brain still connects Latitude to being that cool alt indie festival of the late 2000s. Seeing this announcement compared to any of those is truly grim stuff. Pound-for-pound (literally), that's the worst line-up of 2024 so far by a fair way.
  4. People might have missed this as they just randomly dropped it on the Primavera insta, but ATARASHII GAKKO! have been added to the Saturday. Hadn't heard of them before this but looks like they're very big in Japan but don't have much international audience so probably won't be too high up. Not the kind of thing I'd sit and listen to but should be a fun live show and will probably check them out. They've got a fun sort-of cover of Beastie Boys' Intergalactic here:

    2024 Headliners

My main lesson from going to Glasto my first year is that the Pyramid Stage crowds give me panic attacks and I can see literally nothing because of the flags so now I'm in the weird situation of really wanting the headliners to be sh*t so I don't feel bad about chilling out at the Park stage every night. Come on Coldplay, Foo Fighters and Sam Fender, gimme that white boy guitar triple combo!
  6. 1. Caroline Polachek 2. Viagra Boys 3. Sparks
  7. At The Park for Alt-J. Loving my decision tbh, no crowd anxiety, chill vibes, lovely sunset and I'm eating a veggie enchilada that's a solid 6.5/10.
  8. There were dozens of us. Dozens!
  9. Crowd must be intense. At the front for Caroline Polachek and there's about two rows of people here. Granted about 20 mins before start but still for a subheader at woodsies who comfortably sold out the Apollo earlier this year, that's shocking.
  10. There is literally not one corner of this festival where you're not subjected to hearing shitey dance music 24/7 wether you want to or not. Had a panic attack earlier and had to go to a sensory relaxation tent with massive headphones. Even with them on, I could hear two stages blasting identical sh*t. Its driving me insane.
  11. Officially telling the NFRNFC crew to get f**ked.
  12. On the coach from London now, ETA 5-ish, constantly checking this thread for updates. Cheers everyone!
  13. Could I possibly be cheeky and ask for a report for next Monday from @briddj? I'm worried that big clump of rain will miss us for Elton but then bucket it down overnight and make getting off the site a nightmare.
  14. It does seem like a no-brainer to finally get round to introducing an Avalon-sized tent for heavier music. Heavy bands have proved they can attract a decent crowd at the festival and they're evidently very keen to try and broaden the appeal of the festival in other genre directions, so why not this one? Any idea that those crowds are somehow more rowdy or difficult to deal with is a few decades out-of-date at this point.
  15. I'm not planning on seeing Elton even though there's no-one else I particularly want to see. I just refuse to believe watching a show in a crowd that big could be fun. We had a similar experience trying to see Dua Lipa with the entirety of Primavera last year. Saw the whole show but we were so far away that at the end we all agreed it felt like we didn't even actually watch her, just a colourful dot a few miles away. Going to have a wander around the site instead and see if anything takes our fancy. Will make sure to catch a couple of Elton songs just so we have something to say to stop people being weirdly judge-y, but not planning to stick around for long.
  16. Alright, here's another question while we all pass the time. Say Glasto had the scope to add a couple more stages/tents. What would you want them to be? My suggestions: A stage specifically for all the semi-ironic nostalgia bait that's slowly increasing at Glasto every year. Not against it at all, but wish there was a stage dedicated to it where people could go for a fun dance and take up a few less slots on the main stages with your Sophie Ellis-Bextors/Rick Astleys/etc. Reckon it'd be really popular with the casual types. An 'Acoustic' stage that functions more as a stage for contemporary singer-songwriters. The existing Acoustic Tent serves a great purpose, but it is largely for older audiences and blues/country fans. Again, absolutely nothing wrong with that, would just like another stage as well for your newer piano/guitar singer-songwriters away from sound bleed to do some quality performances. Anyone got any other suggestions?
  17. Got a to-do list as long as my arm today to make sure I can be completely off the clock for the fest. An absolute nightmare!
  18. Refreshing that we're seeing the next generation of those folks who'll try and convince you music peaked with white boys playing indie guitars in 1998.
  19. Never been before, but for me and my partner a bit of peace and quiet at night is deffo paramount. I'm a big walker so we're arriving at about 4pm on Wednesday via coach and currently planning to trek aaaallll the way from Gate A down to South Park 1 to set up. Is there anywhere closer that will still give us a nice bit of peace and quiet while also being near (but not too near!) toilets and not on a massive slope? A lot to ask for, I know!
  20. I've got a Queen's Park shirt (note: NOT QPR, Queen's Park FC) my mate got me semi-ironically that I really like wearing, but I'm worried people will think it's a Newcastle shirt and then there'll be beef that I don't fully understand with some other rando English team and I'll get beaten up before I can shout "'mon the spiders!"
  21. Haven't posted in this yet but I saw Caroline was in danger and had to act. Lizzo 20Elton John 51Kelis 38 (-10)Young Fathers 46Loyle Carner 18Candi Staton 46Rina Sawayama 47Phoenix 51Caroline Polachek 51Fatboy Slim 23
  22. Oof, definitely a ton better than rain, but those later days are indeed looking a little too scorch-y for me. Shouldn't be too bad though if it cools down in the evening and I can get a good night's sleep at least. Bring it on!
  23. Yeah it's tricky as I really want there to be a thread to talk about them but also I want people to have to donate to see them because the Clashfinder website does all us festival nerds a great service. QOTSA would definitely have maybe even double their current % if they clashed with anyone except Elton. I've definitely used this list to help me with some clashes as I tend to try and go for the smaller crowds if I can as I like to be closer to the front! Part of me is delighted to see my top band, The Chicks, are all the way down at number 100.
  24. Oh right! My apologies, thought you were just being a bit sneaky. Yeah it's easy enough, if you just make sure you're logged into Clashfinder and then go to this link: https://clashfinder.com/donate/ That worked for me. Donate through there and then you'll be able to access the Premium options on each clashfinder.
