  1. Wow Lorde?? That's a great and very left-field choice amongst this year's festival crop. Looks like her first one announced of the year, too. With her and Florence that's a great line-up.
  2. A relief to see the difference in comments made in 2023 compared to those made in 2012, that's for sure. IMO why not rename it, I'm not going to see Charli XCX specifically because the tent she's in is named after a pedo.
  3. Right, from the combined powers of the Glasto Fest Feed predictions page, nearby festival line-ups and my own wishful thinking, I've done a full prediction: (Any weird typos are because I did this in the notes app on my work computer which has a very aggressive autocorrect function.) Friday Pyramid Arctic Monkeys / Pulp / Lana Del Rey / Carly Rae Jepsen / Blondie / Easy Life / Hard-Fi Other Bon Iver / Little Simz / Becky Hill / Pale Waves / Alvvays / Maisie Peters / McFly West Holts Rosalia / UB40 / Young Fathers / Sudan Archives / Rachel Chinouriri / Noga Erez / Los Bitchos John Peel Hot Chip / Caroline Polachek / Bloc Party / Orville Peck / Shame / Witch Fever / Nell Mescal Park FKA Twigs / Alt-J / Florence And The Machine (secret) / Jack Johnson / Ethel Cain / Jockstrap / Joesef Saturday Pyramid Guns ’n Roses / Lizzo / Lewis Capaldi / The Black Keys / The Wombats / Hard-Fi / Cat Burns Other Fred Again / Pendulum / Sioux / Viagra Boys / Circa Waves / The Lathum / The Coral West Holts Loyle Carner / Maggie Rogers / JPEGMAFIA / black midi / The Comet Is Coming / Soul Glo / Flo John Peel Orbital / Iggy Pop / Slowthai / Confidence Man / Creeper / Darkside / Rebecca Black Park Paul Weller / Ben Howard / Ashnikko / Unknown Mortal Orchestra / Gwenno / Dolores Forever / Hamish Hawk Sunday Pyramid Elton John / The 1975 / BLACKPINK / Rod Stewart / James / The Courteeners / Local Band Other QOTSA / Johnny Marr / The Chicks / Sleep Token / The Wombats / Waxahatchee / Holly Humberstone West Holts Mabel / Jessie Ware / Candi Staton / Pinkpantheress / Tinariwen / Nia Archives / Madison McFerrin John Peel Editors / Sparks / Yard Act / Kyary Pam Pamyu / Warpaint / Skullcrusher / Millie Manders & The Shut Park Jamie T / Regina Spektor / Bleachers / Nation of Language / Jessie Buckley & Bernard Butler / The Moldy Peaches / Cavetown
  4. ugh please emily just put us out of our misery already and announce it. we need that last flicker of hope destroyed so we can move on.
  5. Finally, someone I like is a lock! Buzzing for this, should be great fun.

    BLACKPINK

Maybe just wishful thinking, but I know K-pop fans do get really hyped about their acts accomplishing big things outside of the k-pop world. In the build-up to Primavera last year you could have convinced me Dreamcatcher were headlining every night with how their fans were hyping up their appearance being such a big deal. BLACKPINK being the first K-Pop act to play the biggest music festival in Europe is exactly the kind of PR thing those act's reps and their fans love.
  7. I unironically love how much of a throwback you are to forum moderators of the mid-2000s. This whole site feels like a corner of the internet that lives inside a time capsule.

    BLACKPINK

Ach, yeah I admit that does make the most logical sense. Guess I just want to stay away from Pyramid and think they'd be more fun at night.

    BLACKPINK

BLACKPINK would be an absolutely perfect booking for me. I've only heard a few of their songs but they seem like they'd be a lot of fun live and tickets to see them are very expensive, prohibitively so unless you're a massive fan (or are very rich). For me, that's what festivals are all about in terms of music. Acts who you enjoy but, for some reason or another, haven't paid or wouldn't pay to go and see at their own concert. Get them headlining Other against Guns 'N Roses and it'll be a huge party. EDIT: Just saw the theory that they might play after the legends slot. Rod seeing all those teenagers waiting for BLACKPINK might give him the notion he's still got it, which nobody needs.
  10. Yeah I mean this would be an absolute dream, but partially because of how many acts are playing much smaller slots than they would do if they did appear. Sparks mid-afternoon in the Nonce dome, Tenacious D mid-afternoon on Pyramid, Lil Nas X and Fred Again subbing West Holts, etc. Also seeing Ashnikko on an open-air stage at about 2pm would be hilariously surreal.
  11. At this point I'm on my knees begging for just one act with even an ounce of flavour. (Lizzo not included because I'm seeing her O2 show)
  12. If 1975 and Bleachers both turn up at the farm my gf will be happy no matter who else is announced so fingers crossed for that.
  13. I feel like they might sit there thinking "Wow all those country house festivals booking old farts for middle-class tories make serious bank. Let's do that then we can knock the tickets up another £50."
  14. Can't believe I've wanted to go to Glastonbury for about 15 years, then I can finally afford to go and it's the year that I'm actively embarrassed to tell people who's headlining.
  15. Oh god fuck offff. They better at least get some decent, arena-sized genre music over on the Other stage against this. Give us Ghost or something.
  16. Given that the headliner was a last-minute replacement, I feel like there'd be no shame in subbing pyramid. Would love to see it tbh, falls exactly into that bracket of people I like but wouldn't pay their ticket prices to see.
  17. Saw Weyes Blood at the Roundhouse last night. Cracking gig, with amazing live vocals and an incredible visual collaboration with Adam Curtis being projected behind her for one of the best new album songs. Also top tier merch. Downside though was as usual standing crowd not knowing what to do for a quiet act and being weird/obnoxious. Didn't help that Natalie's stage banter was some of the most awkward I've ever seen. You can tell she's nice and sincere but she came across very cringe in-between songs, rambling for a bit too long and engaging with crowd weirdos. Great music though, so she gets away with it.
  18. Fall Out Boy UK Tour dates: Support is PVRIS and Nothing, Nowhere. Presale 15 Feb, General Onsale 17 Feb.
  19. This, Prima and Parklife are giving me hope Glasto could still pull off a killer line-up below the top line.

    Editors

Ah man, would love to see them but gf would get proper upset if we didn't close the weekend together and I know she wants to see Elton. Literally two bands with stage times confirmed and there's already a clash, love it.
  21. Are boring old white men the exact opposite of boring middle-aged white men?
  22. I feel like it can be a relative term. I'd say someone like Kylie Minogue is a "contemporary legend" and someone like Rod Stewart is an "old scarecrow man".
  23. Rod Stewart, Elton John and Guns 'n Roses? 20+ year career Arctic Monkeys as the hot young up-and-comers of the top line? Fucking hell, that's an embarrassment.
  24. First actual good UK festival line-up of the year! Get 1975, Fred Again, Little Simz, Wu-Tang and JPEGMAFIA to Glasto please.
