  1. Wouldn't hang your hopes on that. Think the biggest name you'll get now is Puscifer who are already confirmed. But, shit, hope I'm wrong, I'd be at LB.
  2. Like a week or two before I think. But this year, god knows, everything's upside down, we don't even have stages yet and it's mid-April. Wonder if that means we're getting late stage splits but early timetables with them.
  3. Ashenspire just got added, listen to Hostile Architecture.
  4. Political correctness gone mad when we can't ask children to suck our tongues.
  5. The whole festival is days from selling out according to Copping, stop dawdling and buy one. I know a lot of the time this is just a marketing tactic but people said the same about quiet camping, weekend, arena, and Saturday, and they're all gone now.
  6. Now that that absolute travesty is out of the way, can we get some more Field Day names?
  7. Everyone we know a date for already lines up with the poster order except Speakers Corner. Top 3 each day, Beth Orton, Kanda Bongo Man etc. lots have their dates on their own sites/social media Either Speakers Corner got it wrong or it's a gigantic coincidence with one exception
  8. Far as I know there's good info placing a lot of the artists in the poster order, Speaker's Corner is the exception so far. Time will tell whether poster is just mostly correct or that's a mistake
  9. Aye I wouldn't normally put Gojira there yet either, but if they wanted to pull out the stops for AC/DC they might have to downsize on another day. Dunno. I feel like they managed to bag them in 2010 purely because they were filming a DVD on their own stage and didn't even want to be on the t-shirts, so Andy still had the budget for Rage and Aerosmith. All of this is headcanon obviously, I don't have a scooby doo. In reality I don't think it'll be AC/DC. It won't be Tool again until their new album, all jokes aside. Only two occasions they've done Download has been a new album cycle. Don't get me wrong, man with Lateralus avatar will be all over it, but I can't see it.
  10. Sometimes being this obvious can work. Me and a mate went to the gods of rap tour in Manchester, mate hid the joints about his person but forgot to leave his sodding tin at home with a gigantic weed leaf on the front. It was empty but they didn't even bother looking inside because they thought nobody could be that daft.
  11. Killers / Chems / Wu Tang / Sean Paul on the other stages is quite the murderer's row, though. Can't say AM / Wizkid / Kelis has quite the same draw to it despite AM being massive. Forgot the mighty Hawkwind on acoustic. Must have been where all the real heads went.
  12. Given the current choices? It should do pretty well. Hoping for Death Grips or Fever Ray on Park that night instead

    2024 Headliners

I don't think they're going to get AC/DC but it's a much more significant booking. Last time AC/DC played here without a guest singer they sold out Wembley in under an hour. GNR are still shifting their BST tickets right now. Before that it was something like 120k at Download and the only time somebody's brought their own entire stage.
  14. And in reality there will be one. Plenty of people saying they have dropouts this year. Will still be an unmitigated nightmare trying to get a resale of course.
  15. Now that AC/DC are evidently back, I can see 2024 being something like A7X / AC/DC / Gojira Save some money for AC/DC giving Gojira the headline bump early. Returning head, legendary head, new head. Then again AC/DC do not need Download at all, they can fill stadiums on their own.
  16. This might be me since I'll be coming in from Candi on WH. Might just catch up to Rocket Man and then head elsewhere, already caught him at BST last year.
  17. You know what, £40 for James + Editors + Maximo Park is bloody decent. Might see if my mrs. wants to do a round trip.
  18. We didn't even try and get through that Primavera main stage crowd, halfway every time. Just a diabolical setup.
  19. Lol I didn't realise Ozzy backtracked on the touring thing weeks later. Pretty funny. Pretty bananas lineup, 6 Download headliners in 3 days
  20. Should be due more Field Day names any day now. 2019 and 2022 was 2 months before a second wave of acts.
  21. If I'm with anyone at all I won't bother, was just my and my mrs. at a couple last year and neither one of us could be arsed with potentially losing each other constantly. Treating myself to a solo Download this year so I can slip through some crowds. Nobody likes daisychainers.
  22. Bin off the two interludes that happen within 1 track of each other and it's dramatically better already Doesn't touch NFR but I doubt anything will
  23. I love a flare at a festival as long as the wielder knows how to operate it. Watched a kid on his mate's shoulders try one at a Leeds festival once, it barely lit and then he fell off to everyone around him pointing and laughing. They left. Dolt.
  24. I can't be arsed fighting crowds to the front for 90% of live music these days. Heavy stuff is still easy, just walk through pits as and when they open up. Prefer being back enough that I can have a wee boogie and not spill my pint.
