In the past this would have been a major issue, but this year due to the previously mentioned late change to Bristol only and then the train strikes which hit on the day for all the coaches it was opened up to get to the site "under your own steam", whatever form this took, on the Monday. No idea at all yet if that will return this year or not

Agreed. The route down the hill from the JP to the main path this year seemed to have a concentration of some of the lamest food stalls on site, like a bad stereotype of Reading 10-15 years ago

@garc1a @MrZigster FWIW prior to this discussion I'd not heard anything about them wiping priority after a 2nd "missed" year, also a mate of mine did '14 volunteering, '15 & '16 on regular tickets, and was still on the priority e-mail list for '17, so it doesn't seem like it was in place then

In the past there's always been a "priority" opening to the sign up a couple of days early for those who are returning volunteers, so I'd assume this year will be similar. Also if anyone has questions about the Shelter volunteering experience feel free to ask as I've been doing it since 2014 so can probably help with most queries 😅
