  1. I once arrived after dark and woke up pitched on someone's lawn
  2. There will be plenty of opportunity for doing the dirty if it rains!
  3. You will find ample space on the western fringes of the site. These fields will all be quieter but, as advised above, they come with being further out from the Pyramid etc
  4. In all previous years there has been no through route east to west or vice versa via Pilton.
  5. On past experience there will be no queues to park but where you park will be down to which field the stewards are filling. You can be either side of the road but it's more likely to be over the road. The gate queue should be small, less than an hour. Maybe less than 20min.
  6. Having seen a friends band fail to get an entry for their roadie and read of many similar instances where bands cannot get additional tickets other than for themselves I wouldn't get your hopes up too much. Such tickets appear very hard to obtain.
  7. Yes Webbs Ash fills quick as it's close to the Pyramid and quite flat. Arriving lunchtime and getting to Webbs in the afternoon means any remaining space will be less than attractive. Probably next to the bogs or walkway. Both unappealling: especially if it rains and the site turns into a swamp
  8. You already know you're going to have to compromise but don't worry, they'll be plenty of space on the western fringes and you won't have to camp with the bogs
  9. If you're dead set on these fields then you need to queue overnight as they fill rapidly with the first person through the gate.
  10. Mate had one on a camping trip once. Water never really got hot (tepid at best) as they work best on very hot sunny day, whereas we just had bright warm sunshine. The main problem I recall was finding somewhere to hang the bag for a shower. When full it's quite heavy and he couldn't hang it high enough to get anything more than a dribble out of it. Think it got ditched soon after because he never tried to use it again after the initial attempt.
  11. Have been twice by coach arriving around 8 - 8:30. Longest we had to queue was less than 30mins. Either we were lucky or you've been unlucky 🤔
  12. Arriving ca. 7:30 - 8am Wednesday and entering via at Gates A or D expect to queue for 2hrs or more in the general queue. By comparison coach queues are ca 15 - 45min.
  13. You run a significant risk of the driver refusing to carry a trolley because of lack of luggage space, so take spirit's. And as above, Oxylers, Paines Pennards will be full by Wednesday evening so you need to look at the fields further out on the western fringes.
  14. The walk alone from your campervan to the gate to get in is 1/2 - 1 mile and then you can queue up to an hour to actually get in
  15. They only have shared toilets at Glasto
  16. You can't get into Glastonbury without an admission ticket. Even if a friend took you in their campervan you'd just be left sitting in the campervan park outside the perimeter of the festival. Concerned though about whether Glastonbury is for you with all your "ailments". Glasto is huge. Expect to walk up to 10 miles a day. And you will be queuing lots and lots for shared toilets in basic sanitary conditions, e.g. a bench with a hole into a communal cesspit
  17. All tickets for Glastonbury 2023 have been sold. If Glastonbury Festival is held in 2024 tickets for that event will probably go on sale in the first week of October 2023. This is what you're calling the first tranche. In order to participate in the ticket buying process you first need to register as advised above. Only persons registered can buy a ticket and every person you buy for will also need to be registered. The registration process involves providing a passport style photograph. Any ticket returned from the October 2023 sale will be resold in 2024 (usually April). Your termed second tranche. Finally, sales last minutes before the event is sold out.
  18. You missed it all and tickets all are sold out. If you want tickets in the future read the info on the official Glasto website concerning the ticket buying process.

Not only have they not happened since 2016 but when they did you had to be extremely well prepared to catch it and even more extremely lucky to get a ticket. Previous secret resales popped up at random in May on a weekday morning/afternoon (ie during normal working hrs) lasted ca. 120 seconds

The new system is better but it still isn't a fair system. A fair system would not allow people who don't want tickets to get tickets on behalf of others who do. The new system encourages more traffic and makes it even harder to obtain tickets. If applied to the next general sale the 1,000,000 who actually want 1 of the 135,000 tickets could be fighting to get booking site access against another 1, 2 or 3 million people who are trying to get tickets on behalf of others.

In my previous experience on these forums it usually takes much longer than 24hrs before the "oh shit, what have we done" penny drops

The new system which lets people try for others without the need for immediate payment is a negative for me. It causes greater traffic and reduces individual chances.
  25. Arriving Wednesday 1pm last time we drove straight into the west car parking. We then had a walk of 25mins to Gate A where we queued for approx an hour to get in. It was no problem for us arriving at this time as others set up our tents as the gates were opening. Bit of an inside job as friends were already on site as volunteers 😀 For those arriving Wednesday afternoon onwards the western fields offer space. The east side around the Pyramid fills quickly as does the fields near The Other stage, Park and John Peel
