  1. Ghosts Christmas special tonight at 8.30. With Jennifer Saunders!
  2. We were literally just having that conversation at work this morning about our beer delivery. Been caught out before on that one.
  3. I don't think he actually believes what he's saying. He's just trying to get a reaction. You should understand that. Unless I've misread it and he really is that odd
  4. From speaking to friends working in tourism in Wales (Tenby and Snowdonia) it seems they've had just as busy a season as we have here
  5. I'm trying to persuade my lot to go as punters. Not having much success so far. It's like they can't see beyond volunteering as a way of going to a festival. You can get stuck in that mindset after years of doing it that way. It's not like money is really an issue for any of them either. If I can't persuade them then I will still try for a place with Oxfam. Seems to fill pretty much straight away these days though
  6. I remember when I lived in NZ just how big a deal it was for one of the major acts to come and play their 1/2 nights. And if someone actually came to the South Island, everyone lost their minds. I happened to be visiting Auckland when Metallica played there. It was crazy. I swear everyone in Auckland apart from me was wearing a Metallica T-shirt those two days and it was all anyone seemed to be talking about
  7. I've not seen anyone wearing any crazy masks. My housemate bought a plague mask but never had the guts to wear it in public. Speaking of guts, was very annoying last year at the start of compulsory mask wearing when blokes would just pull their t-shirts up over their mouths. No one needs to see that.
  8. Only seen the first but I liked it. Darker and not as knockabout as I was expecting (it has its moments though) from the trailers and Stephen Merchants involvement.
  9. Nor me, thankfully. And probably only in single figures for people who definitely had it too
  10. I feel asleep watching Skyfall. My mate had to nudge me when I started snoring. In my defence the cinema was very warm and we'd been for a big pub Sunday lunch before. Saw Dune on Friday. Quite enjoyed it. Didn't blow me away but it was fine. Didn't feel overly long either, and generally I think any film over about 2 hours really needs to earn it's running time
  11. I am. And yes, it is. One last push
  12. Your first point isn't an unreasonable one. The way you make it sometimes less so. Your second is genuinely nuts
  13. Cool, so does that mean that all your future comments are only going to relate to the field that you work in?
  14. Congrats on the promotion. Yep, we're still so busy here too. Dreading this half term. As busy as summer but all the students we employed have gone back to uni!. Still, just this week to get through then it goes very quiet apart from weekends.
  15. Yeah, selfish pricks. Trying to use their skills to assist people at the worst time in heir lives. Doing a job most of us couldn't even contemplate doing. Makes sense now.
  16. But Fuzzy wasn't disagreeing with her views on social distancing. He was criticizing the fact she worked in palliative care. Which even by his standards is fucking weird.
  17. Been wondering who we're supposed to hate next. Would not have put my money on palliative care doctors, but there you go
  18. Was on BBC here, and yes, an amazing doc. Read something about how wrong it was too give these people a platform but ir was just a case of let them talk, see how mad they are. Saying that, no one's minds were changed watching it. On either side. The two cops later on ( Mike and Jimmy?) were brilliant. Mike especially. His utter contempt for the pricks was very entertaining. Not surprising considering what he went through.
  19. Christ, could you imagine Mark Francois with a gun?
  20. Probably best just to leave them to it. Posting and then getting angry about Tweets seems to mostly keep them occupied
  21. Oh, for fuck's sake. Don't make me side with Gove. Not him, please
  22. I've said before many times that I wouldn't do Glastonbury any other way but I can see why it wouldn't be for some. The strongest thing I consume these days is caffeine so the fact I can't go nuts for 5 days isn't an issue for me anymore, but for some it would be. I'm also not that fussed about missing a 'must see' but again, for some that's a major issue. Between me and my friends we've had a few horror shifts and awful punters but we've all been doing it long enough (and all work/worked in customer service jobs) that they just become funny anecdotes afterwards but some might get upset by something like that. And as much as they talk about the friendliness etc, I'd imagine some people have had pretty lonely experiences that weren't expecting. Even just having a shit supervisor might ruin it for someone.
  23. Nope. Some organizations do that (Festaff for one) but not Oxfam
