  1. QOTSA subbing Arctic Monkeys whilst The Prodigy headline Other is the Friday night dream. QOTSA/The Prodigy would be an insane 1-2.
  2. A repeat performance from Nate Rateliff wouldn't go amiss either
  3. Yes please! Be a cracking hour that. Sheryl Crow sort of slot.

I've tried getting back into WWE recently as some of The Bloodline stuff seems great, but the presentation is so off putting. The huge LED sets, graphics, awful camera cuts etc. I've found since getting back into wrestling watching AEW that I can't be arsed with all the phoniness of WWE's presentation, in as much as things being shot by a fly on the wall. I like how AEW keeps things presented within a realm of reality to a certain extent, and definitely can't be dealing with the supernatural shit like the Wyatt stuff. Give me Kingston, Page etc wrestling with their demons any day of the week, as opposed to an actual demon or someone literally feuding with themselves. Feels like since All Out that Khan has been playing things ultra safe, and fallen into WWE's biggest bad habits - relying on the same big names every week, lots of rematches etc. Hope that Full Gear means a clean slate to allow for some proper roster rotation again, lots of new creative threads etc. Even though the creative and booking has been stale recently, the in ring product is still fantastic and makes it worthwhile to watch weekly. As for CM Punk, well, his run was phenomenal in AEW, the less said about Phil Brooks though the better. Glad he's gone, even without the brawl after that press conference his position was untenable. Erased that whole year of great work by just being the bitter, washed out, selfish, locker room cancer WWE always made him out to be.
  5. As much as anything, Liam played the two festivals before last in prominent slots. No way are the Eavii re-booking him a slot higher than 2019 to do the same Oasis karaoke.
  6. Just give it to Confidence Man already.

Yeah thought it was a great PPV but honestly, the product has been pretty bang average recently. Hope this can be the turning point and things kick on and Dynamite becomes can't miss weekly television again.
  8. I earn just under the national average salary. But then I'm single and rent a place on my own. No real savings but no debts at all. Where do I place in the class debate? A lot to be said for people who co-habit. Two people sharing rent/utilities makes a world of difference.

Bruce Springsteen sold his masters for $500m yet is still out there fleecing his fans. Gotta hand it to to him, the temerity of the man is incredible.
  10. Ahh man don't go getting my hopes up like that

Yup definitely this. I liked The Magic Whip but it's not an album that demands a Pyramid slot to play from it. Gutted I wasn't there in 2009 but there's no real need to revisit is how I'm sure Damon and the band feel. Can't say the same for Gorillaz. Not a chance they'd headline these days but could see Damon wanting to be back on the farm to nail it this time in terms of setlist, performance etc. They were ace when I saw them in 2017/18 and would be an amazing Pyramid sub/Other headliner
  12. Still think Lizzo is a perfect Pyramid sub. Though if they want a female headliner for Other, who else is in the mix? Doja Cat? QOTSA and Prodigy seem nailed on for two of the slots. Both meant to play recently but tours/festivals were cancelled, both touring around Glastonbury time. Outside chance that Homme wouldn't mind doing Pyramid sub under his mate Alex and the lads.
  13. That's not what @Jose Poseis getting at I don't think. More that if you have the expendable income to spend £200+ for a single evening's entertainment, that you most likely have the expendable income for 5 days at Glastonbury. He's not saying the two cost the same. Surely anyone who is priced out of Glastonbury won't be able to afford £200+ for just one gig.
  14. Yes, and like I say, Jamie T would have been more than a suitable headliner for it if playing opposite anyone than McCartney. The fact he rammed the JPT full whilst every other stage was quiet, despite having huge crossover in fans, speaks volumes. If you'd have put Jamie T as headliner on Other on either of the other nights where he's not a singer/songwriter playing opposite a bloody Beatle, he'd have pulled a good Other headline sized crowd.
  15. Still holds a good 10k at least. It was only safe because of the huge crossover between Jamie T and Paul McCartney. I'd hazard a guess Jamie T maybe had the biggest crowd of anyone playing opposite Macca, given how many the old bloke pulled to the Pyramid. If Jamie T headlined Other when Foals did against Billie, he'd have pulled a very respectable crowd, if not quite as massive as Foals.
  16. Chameleon isn't there anymore, not sure what replaced it. Was another one nearby that was similar. Was in the bit between Other and Pyramid, not far from where people are saying Hop and Liquor is now I think.
  17. Subbed Other, was a storming set and huge crowd despite being up against Weller on the Pyramid. Him and Chems as a 1-2 was a perfect way to end my first Glastonbury. Won't be there this year though, not an announced set anyway. He's on record with his love of the festival so could easily see him doing a Paolo Nutini super secret set somewhere.
  18. I mentioned him as a Pyramid sub, purely cos he's got a boatload of bangers that'd go down a stormer with any crowd. It's the hardest spot to nail at a festival and whilst he'd be a small sub, he's got the tunes and live performance to entertain a crowd waiting for the headliner.
  19. Eh the guy loves the place, could do a secret set but they usually precede slots as opposed to being the following year.

Because this is the thread titled Blur and this is where the conversation started. That's it. It's not because anyone hates Blur, on the contrary its because people were interested in the gig before seeing the price.

Well, maybe you should go also then Jeff because you couldn't see driving home the other night, because you, you don't even wear your glasses on TV in case you get slagged off. You just stick to Specsavers and I'll do the game

Just so happened this is where the talk about it started about the price of gigs in general, golden circle etc. Has been mentioned how other gigs are ridiculously priced, and some are more reasonably priced. The problem I see is if everyone keeps stumping up the ridiculous prices and just accepts it, then they'll just keep going up and up and up. We're now at the point where music as entertainment isn't for the masses.
