Take that out, £75 all in for general standing then seated tickets at a reasonable price instead of being massively hiked, still would make a fortune out of it. That's exactly what Green Day/Fall Out Boy/Weezer did for their tour, and they had the extra cost of coming over to the UK and splitting the revenue between 3 headline acts. People trying to justify acts charging phenomenally inflated prices is half the issue. Might as well bow down to the profiteering of the energy companies too whilst we're at it.

Thing is, just because greed is dominating the market place, doesn't mean you can't still choose to put on a reasonable priced gig. Not saying everyone has to be Paul Abbott, but they could bin the golden circle and slash the price by a third at least and still make a very handsome amount out of it. It's making gigs simply unaffordable for normal, everyday folk. Factor in travel, cost of food/drink which will be charged at a ridiculous price and its well over £200 for the day.

How much does Wembley hold, 60,000? Averaging out at £100 a ticket, that's £6m. Even if taking into account logistics, paying support acts etc and the band only see a fraction of that, its still hundreds of thousands of pounds each for a couple of hours work. Before factoring in merchandise sales etc which would boost that massively. Just sad to see the music world becoming the same as every other, making as much £££ in as short of a time frame as possible, fuck the fans.

See to me that's an insane comment, and the fact these sorts of prices are being accepted as ok is a major part of the problem. Love Blur, they're one of my favourite bands going back to being a kid, but this is ridiculous. No justification for it other than pure greed. Mad to think in 2017 that Damon did a Gorillaz gig with all of the special guests etc at Brixton Academy for a fiver.
  5. And it was a fucking awesome set too. Could only have done it with McCartney headlining too otherwise would have been more dangerous than a secret set. Bloke's on another level, perfect Pyramid sub level.
  6. If anything, the fact See Tickets servers couldn't cope with the amount of people trying at all suggests there was a vast increase in demand compared to 2019's sale for 2020 tickets.
  7. It will always sell out as quickly as the servers allow. Even if demand fell by 75% it would still be an instant sell out.
  8. Not impacted anyone in our group, anyone missing out is due to choice - people got weddings to plan, babies to have etc. To be honest I can't imagine too many being put off at this stage - not from the initial sale anyway. Might be a few who give it a second thought when the balance is due, but probably stumped up the deposit regardless. If you can't afford to go without £50 for a few months then you've probably already written off the festival as too expensive anyway. Given how pricely Glastonbury is regardless, I imagine 99% of regular punters would be able to cough up the deposit.
  9. Feels to me Roxy Music's legacy is more one of influence than anything? Certainly they have no cut through with our group of 30-40 somethings. On the other hand there's a few who have seen GnR at their own gig and will see them at Glastonbury, and I imagine most would watch them on the farm if Axl's voice wasn't fucked (myself included). Happy for Roxy to do the legend slot as would be nice to be elsewhere for once, and none of the other names in the frame really tickle my fancy.
  10. Apart from the Agatha-Pyramid Proposition which means Bjorn Again will be at Glastonbury again in 2029
  11. Can't wait till this time next year, when after AM/GnR/Elton have headlined 2023, we say how we had all the headliners wrapped up before the ticket sale last year.
  12. Bon Jovi would be an epic legend slot booking.
  13. Roxy Music has absolutely no cut through with my generation (33yo). Never knowingly heard them the same way the likes of Diana Ross, Barry Gibb, Lionel etc are engrained in music and pop culture history. Even ELO has Mr Blue Sky that everyone knows.
  14. Just feel the only other place for them other than they Pyramid would be The Park and they've ticked that off. Sunny Sunday afternoon, cold beer in hand, Jarvis swaggering his way around the Pyramid whilst the crowd eats it up. It just seems to work.
  15. Apologies think I got them subbing R+L in a mix. Did they even sub that? Lord knows
  16. Disco 2000 and Common People are still ubiquitous with Gen Z enough for then to be recognisable, much more so than Roxy Music. They've headlined Pyramid, subbed it, done a secret set. Is the legend slot something that Jarvis and Co wanna tick off to complete their legacy? I feel they really don't fit as an Other headliner, and they've ticked off the Pyramid sub box. That's exactly where I'd place their stock - legend slot is an equivalent and maybe something they wanna do? Could easily see Jarvis approaching the festival about doing it as soon as the reunion discussions were going on.
  17. Played the likes of Carfest, Mighty Hoopla, Back 2 Festival in 2022 but gonna be taking the 4th headliner slot at Glastonbury in 2023. Get em on Avalon if you must. What about Pulp? They've headlined and subbed, been around since forever. If this is their last hurrah tour, why not sign off at Glastonbury as the legend? Sure they could sub again, but nobody wants them playing under Arctic Monkeys or GnR.
  18. It's not gonna be Steps FFS. Place has gone mad and its only November
  19. The date for Eid next year has been known longer than you've known you've had Glastonbury tickets. Just argue if they were that fussed and had plans, they'd have booked it off already. You've got actual plans set in stone and have given months of advance notice. Should be a first come, first served basis.
  20. A Ticketmaster queue is the same as a ballot, would be awful. The current process is already a lottery, just one you can raise your odds at by being organised and putting in some effort.
  21. Yeah there was a deal with Reading/Leeds made and it was a very well kept secret.
  22. Tell you what, if AM/GnR/Elton is indeed the headline trio, then Sade would be a good booking to compliment them. Rumoured to be recording new music, no better launchpad.
  23. Maybe with all the rumours it's actually Eminem.
  24. Can you give any sort of hint? Genre? Age? Is it a solo act or band? Shoe size?
