  1. That’s one of the few times I remember an exclusive not being true actually being addressed by a festival, though how true the story they gave was is hard to tell given we knew it was Metallica long before the announcement. https://gigwise.com/news/90871/

    The Cure

I also thought they were brilliant. One of the best value gigs I’ll ever see, £50 before fees for one of my favourite bands supporting and then 2 hours 45 of The Cure. I was pretty happy with the setlist. Sure, I’d have liked Closedown or Disintegration in there but getting a few from Pornography in there as well as Burn, Faith and The Last Day of Summer suited me just fine. Thew new sounds sounded better than I expected too. I don’t they have another Disintegration or Pornography in them but they might just have another Bloodflowers, which is good enough for me. His voice is ridiculously good this far into their career, there can’t be many singers who sound that good (maybe even better?) than they did 40 years ago.
  3. That was OBface, they said yesterday that they’d heard it was Spice Girls.
  4. Queens of the Stone Age Yeah Yeah Yeahs Pulp Bon Iver Slowdive
  5. At the moment I’d guess Eurythmics, they seem a good fit based on the info we have.
  6. Would be happy with this. Two nights at the Pyramid with Warren Drug and the lads the only major casualty and then plenty of space at Lizzo or YYYs while the rest of the festival is at yer man Fred. Seems like Mad Cool are announcing on Monday so hoping for some interesting names there that we haven’t predicted yet.

    2024 Headliners

I don’t think they’d be an exciting booking for us but I agree, if they’re around they seem very likely to be booked. I get the thinking behind suggesting a younger trio for 2024 but I’d expect at least one older act in there. I’d have Foo Fighters and Depeche Mode as the front-runners for that at the moment but based on the kind of headliners they usually book, I’d be very surprised if the oldest act is Taylor Swift.

    2024 Headliners

This is what I think too. Not fully convinced Taylor will do it so maybe Dave instead but sticking with Taylor at the moment.
  9. I'm not a huge fan so find it hard to judge quite how big he is but is he bigger now than Disclosure were on their first album when they did West Holts? I get that he seems to be everywhere now but headlining Other is a big jump.
  10. I never doubted you but fair play, plenty did and the initial trio you gave is looking pretty bang on now.
  11. Elton closing the festival on his last UK show is a phenomenal booking. Fair play to them for getting that, will be a very busy field that night. As much as an Arctic Monkeys, Guns N Roses, Elton John does clearly lack something, it’s hard to argue they’re not three massive acts.
  12. I think so too, seem an ideal fit as a sub for one of the first two which is broadly what Glastonbury seem to try for these days.
  13. I bet Emily is a bit disappointed it took a very obvious hint for us to see it.
  14. Why else would they make a picture of a rocket going over the Pyramid?
  15. What a day if we get an Elton confirmation and Guns N Roses seemingly nailed on too.
  16. A rocket going over the Pyramid on yesterday's shot...
  17. Makes me think of 2019 a bit. A lot of alright lineups but as you say a lack of excitement and big acts. To be fair, all three of Glastonbury’s headliners that year nailed it. I doubt we’ll be saying the same thing about next year’s trio though, no matter who the third one is.
  18. Probably yeah. Elton couldn’t have done that day anyway so seems like Adele was wrong. I suppose they might have had her lined up again only for her to not tour.
  19. Could see something like this as a Connect day too.
  20. A cheery year for me apparently
  21. I remember in 2019 when we spent months thinking we were still waiting on another headliner, only for it to be Vampire Weekend all along.
  22. There was only 1 in the original 2020 lineup (Lana Del Rey) and none for the 2021 lineup. I'd say as long as they're still booking a balanced lineup overall and having prominent acts who aren't necessarily headliners (Bad Gyal, St. Vincent, FKA twigs etc) then they're doing their job.
  23. Full lineup here. Fair play to whoever decided to stick Jake Bugg in between Confidence Man and Pet Shop Boys on the opening day.
  24. Halsey is playing Primavera as well, possibly an Other headliner contender?
