  1. I find clashfinders really helpful for visualising the lineup. Posters are great for identifying a load of names I’d like to see but planning out a (hypothetical) route for each day makes it all seem a bit more real.
  2. Ah that makes sense, cheers!
  3. Any idea what time Squid are playing on Friday? Was surprised to see them so low down on the poster since they’re playing fairly high up.
  4. I went both nights too, two fantastic gigs. I was quite glad about the rain on the first night as it masked my tears when they did the Frightened Rabbit cover. Managed to hear a few songs I’d always wanted to hear them play over the two nights like Brainy, All the Wine and Green Gloves too.
  5. If not the bandstand then maybe one of the Big Top gigs they’ve had in Queen’s Park the last couple of years.
  6. They were on the 2020 poster and I'm pretty sure they were down for the Other stage. Could see them back there at lunchtime but Park again feels a better fit.
  7. I think last year had 7 Mordor, 6 Amazon, 6 Ron Brugal, 6 Cupra, 7 Plenitude, 6 Dice, 3-4 Auditori, 6-8 Pull & Bear and 6 The Warehouse, all of which I think came from the first poster, so about 55 or so each day. I guess they've maybe got rid of a stage or dropped an act from each stage but some additions would be welcome, even if there is already plenty of quality throughout.

    2024 Headliners

I think she’s a “UK headline exclusive”, whatever that means but I think Glasgow Summer Sessions is coming back to Bellahouston in August, she’d be a good fit there.
  9. Are these confirmed or just who you think will play Auditori? I was thinking that some of Jessica Pratt, HTRK, Julie Byrne, Nala Sinephro and Shabaka were all contenders too. Great mix of acts there anyway.
  10. Noticed that Example confirmed he's headlining the second stage, so would guess everyone up to Sugababes is main stage based on the text size, Example onwards is second stage.
  11. I didn’t go last year but from a quick comparison I think the first poster last year covered two main stages, Amazon Music, Ron Brugal, Cupra, Plenitude, Dice, Auditori, Pull & Bear and The Warehouse, with as you say Boiler Room coming later. There’s still plenty of electronic stuff in the bottom two sections which I guess might fill Pull & Bear and The Warehouse but that leaves plenty of gaps elsewhere. I think @diogozsz’s suggestion of them adding more names once they’re at the final tier, which I think they did in 2021, seems possible. Would be a shame to lose a stage but wouldn’t be hugely surprised.
  12. They did but I don’t think their day sold out. They’ve never seemed too fussy with where they play so I suspect they’ll be happy with an hour on Saturday evening playing to a huge crowd.
  13. It's not for me at all but I think that's a perfect set of headliners for their demographic. Gerry is on the way down now but Courteeners presumably on his day will make sure it sells out.
  14. For those who went, how busy was it? I noticed they haven’t confirmed 2024 dates yet, which they did pretty quickly after last years festival. It’s a shame if they’re not keeping it but I’m probably their prime demographic and have only been to one day across both years, so if others are similar then I can see why they might be struggling.

    2024 Headliners

Is TRNSMT not the same weekend they’re playing in Rome?
  16. Not that they need an excuse to tour but if The Killers finally release that new album and are around then I think they’ll headline. Gerry Cinnamon seems a sensible shout too. I saw some rumblings of Catfish & the Bottlemen becoming active again, maybe them if they’re back? I’d prefer their own gig but I wonder if The Cure would be booked? They’ve sold their last two Glasgow gigs well and aren’t too much of a stretch from booking The Strokes/Pulp.
  17. I’ve mostly been floating between King Tut’s and The River stage but it’s surprisingly fine. I went with trainers in the end and that’s been fine, ground is mostly dry at the moment, though if it rains tomorrow it could get muddy pretty quickly. The main stage feels like a completely different festival. Admittedly I’ve mostly been watching 6music type acts like Cloth, The Big Moon and Warmduscher but the crowd difference when you get closer to the main stage makes me feel incredibly old!
  18. Think people were a bit more keen to go to festivals last year given it was the first big summer of the pandemic. I’m sure it won’t be dead but not expecting a packed site tomorrow. Given the rain that’s currently hammering down and that there’s a gig in Glasgow Green just now, are we thinking walking boots for tomorrow rather than trainers?
  19. Nah, that's just a prediction one I had which I've now made private to try and avoid any confusion for when the real one is updated. The real one is here: https://clashfinder.com/s/g2023/
  20. I went to one for the new Daughter album a few weeks ago. I was a bit apprehensive before it for the reason you mention, as I had no clue what it would be like. It ended up being a mix of people just browsing through records for something to do (me and a few others), people with their pals chatting and then some people who staunchly stood near the speakers and listened. I’m not sure I’d go to another one but it was a decent event with free beer, merch etc., so worth a try if you’re interested in one.
  21. Yeah that’s fair. I do think he’s managed to crossover into different crowds already, even more so than an act like Disclosure. As with most potential headliners a lot rides on his next album but I do think he’ll headline in 2025 or 2026.
  22. I think they’re different situations. Calvin played early JP one year but other than that didn’t have much of a relationship with the festival. They’re giving Fred a big slot this year in the same way they have done for Stormzy, Billie Eilish, Olivia Rodrigo etc. recently. I think he’s on that pathway rather than the headline Other every few years one.
