  1. Was thinking the other day that Overmono subbing Orbital on the Park could work well.
  2. Yeah Sam moving up with Fred headlining Other is what I was thinking too, just on different days. I don’t think CHVRCHES would be anywhere near that high up now and also don’t think The Black Keys will play. Think I’d go Rosalia, Central Cee and The War on Drugs as Other subs.
  3. Ah fair enough, cheers. I’ll go for Wizkid, Fred and The Prodigy, with Sam Smith subbing Elton.
  4. As much as I like them The War on Drugs would be a contender for smallest Other headliner crowd ever up against Elton. I can see them as an Other sub and still think at a push they could be one of the smaller, acclaimed Pyramid subs they sometimes have but not as an Other headliner. Where did the Wizkid stuff come from?
  5. I think TRNSMT have settled into their lineups/crowd pretty well now. On the whole it’s not for me but they know their crowd and while they maybe don’t make many exciting bookings, they do a good job of getting big guitar bands, a few older acts and mid sized pop acts. In a year of poor lineups across the board, they’ve managed to get most of their relevant acts who are spread across multiple festivals elsewhere into one lineup.
  6. Nothing too unexpected here but it does give an indication of the kind of slots newer acts who will no doubt be at Glastonbury like Cat Burns, FLO, LF System etc might be getting this summer.
  7. Not too many surprises here but seems decent enough for TRNSMT. I’m only likely to go for Pulp if there’s cheaper tickets going nearer the time and Warmduscher, The Big Moon and Swim School make that a solid enough day. Bit surprised at them getting The Wombats and Nothing But Thieves on the second stage, both seem quite big for that.
  8. There’s a Gigs in Scotland presale if that helps, if you have/make an account with them you should have access to it at 10am.
  9. Get this on the Pyramid. Can even have a rendition of Send the Buggers Back too.
  10. Could see him as a JP/Park headliner at this point.
  11. Only other name I’ve been thinking is Eurythmics given there was talk of them touring. That was a couple of months ago and it’s been very quiet since then.
  12. She was one of my biggest surprises at last years festival. I was planning to see Gabriels but ended up being nearer the JP tent so went to see her instead. She was excellent, decent sized crowd who were all very into it and while she was clearly very nervous, that just added to it. I’d happily have her back on the Other stage or high up the Park assuming she finally releases an album at some point.
  13. Robbie’s dates don’t him look very likely. Norway on the 22nd and 24th and then Croatia on the 27th and 28th. You could squeeze a trip to Pilton in on the 25th but it’s not ideal, I think he’s more likely for another year. It does feel oddly quiet, even just on realistic contenders nevermind solid rumours. I’m starting to think it might end up just being Pulp after all.
  14. Annoying isn’t it. I’ve been hoping to see them for years and ended up being at a wedding the day they finally played Scotland last summer, as well as them cancelling Primavera the day before I was due to see them there. I’m hoping for an Edinburgh gig around then as there are another two big outdoor gigs on the Connect site but can’t say I’m confident.
  15. Where’s @dentalplanwhen we need him?
  16. Coldplay did a few things in 2016. They got Barry Gibb and Michael Eavis on to sing and also covered Viola Beach. Florence covered Times Like These by Foo Fighters in 2015. Arcade Fire did a thing on that tour where their bobbleheads came on stage and before the encore and music played. For Glastonbury they had Wonderwall, 99 Problems, Common People and a few others since it was Glastonbury. They’d done this a couple of times before but Kasabian brought Noel Fielding or Vlad the Impaler. They also covered Crazy by Gnarls Barkley for some reason, which I think was their first time doing it live.
  17. I can’t say I was expecting Pavement to play at all but a shame to have them ruled out, they’d make a great Park/JP headliner. I went into their Primavera set only knowing a couple of albums and not being a huge fan but they were so good, one of the highlights of the weekend for me.

    2024 Headliners

Their tours normally last two years don’t they? I guess they’ll do a festival run next summer anyway so hopefully Glastonbury are finally part of that.

    2024 Headliners

I’m starting to think Depeche Mode might finally happen after @siscoheard they’re keeping the date free. Depeche Mode, Dua Lipa, Foo Fighters is my guess at the moment.
  20. Maybe they’ll sub like Adele should have in 2016 and someone else can play after?
  21. Every big Ticketmaster sale I try for makes me appreciate the manic F5 approach to Seetickets even more.
  22. That’s NME picked up on it now so you’d imagine it’ll be shared pretty widely by the end of the day. I realise even the GnR enthusiasts among us aren’t likely to be listening to their bassist’s radio show but it is quite funny if this happened a couple of weeks ago and none of us noticed, especially after also missing the rocket on the webcam for Elton’s announcement.
  23. She’s playing the main stage there apparently before your dream top two of QOTSA and Arctic Monkeys. I think Other sub makes sense too. She’d be a decent fit before any of Sam Smith, Fred or The Prodigy and a good counter to the guitars on the Pyramid.
  24. If you liked the intro track then you might like a few of their more ambient/post-rock influenced songs like lostmyhead, About You, Haunt // Bed, Please Be Naked etc., I do like most of their stuff but I think they're at their best when making songs like that.
