  1. So whats the general view on the names listed in the poll;

The Cure - Ruled out because of Mad Cool

Arctics - No confirmed tour dates as of yet in Europe for 2019

Mumford - Playing Barcelona in April which is said to be their only Spanish date for 2019

The Strokes - Unlikely because of BBK

No festival would be daft enough to comment on a poll where none of the bands were actually playing? Surely not?

With five albums to their name and a meteoric career, The Strokes will set foot on Bilbao BBK Live for the first time for an exclusive performance in the Iberian Peninsula, where they will run through the songs that have earned them recognition as one of the major 21st century bands.

Where did they post this? I'm pretty sure i read this yesterday as well but now i'm struggling to find it.....

  3. Longitude have just announced Chance the Rapper and ASAP Rocky amongst others. We shared both Travis Scott in 2018 and The Weekend in 2017 - both headlined Thursday at Beni - so wouldn't be surprised if Beni has one of their headliners as their Thursday night act.

Not my cup of tea but know it will appeal to a few of my group.

Quick question guys. What’s the latest you can get your wristbands as our flight gets in at 7:30 PM?

Depends what day you arrive! From memory im sure its till until Midnight and then even later once the music starts.

Are you camping? Because if you arrive late at night and the wristband exchange is closed you will still be allowed into the campsite :)

I wish it'd be The Strokes, but I think it'll be Spanish band Vetusta Morla since the first number is 15151 and that's the name of one of their albums

At first i thought the 51 was making a reference to 12:51 by The Strokes.

I only know when Latitude is because I've been hoping to go for a few years and have always had other plans! So maybe 2019 will be the year.

That's a shame, if hypothetically The Strokes are about and they do NOS/Mad Cool/Latitude I'm sure there'll be more dates than that anyway so hopefully you can get to see them somewhere else! Unless you can convince your mate that Madrid/Lisbon is the place to go for stag do's ?

I just need The Strokes to play the Saturday night at Mad Cool as this will allow me to sack off the final night of the stag and fly to Madrid to see them before catching a train Sunday morning straight to Benicassim.

    There is hope.

I don't know about every year but last year Latitude was the same weekend as NOS and Mad Cool so that might have played a factor, even so Wolf Alice played all three as did Rag'n' Bone Man. In 2019 NOS and Mad Cool is the weekend before Beni/Latitude.

EDIT - In fact, in 2015, 2016 and 2018 Latitude was the week before Benicassim, the only year they were the same was 2017 and they didn't share any headliner. So it tends to be Latitude share headliners with ones doing Spanish dates the week before/after.

Well spotted. Presumed the dates were the same.

There goes my Strokes dream then. Got a Stag Do booked for Mad Cool weekend, absolutely gutted. What makes it even worse is that the stag is who i attended this years festival with.

I'd think NOS and Mad Cool one week, Latitude the next would be more likely especially as they'd likely be the Saturday headliner if they played Latitude.

If it's Prophets of Rage tomorrow this is very strong start, regardless of whether you like them all or not particularly when only one, possibly two will be head/co-heads.

From what i can see none of the headline acts at Latitude have played Mad Cool or Nos in the same year, whereas Latitude and Benicassim usually acts, including headliners - Portishead and Noel Gallagher 2015, Maccabees 2016 and then The Killers 2018.

The Strokes are suppossdly headlining Latitude so they seem an obvious one. Something like:

    Macca

    The Cure / Smashing Pumpkins

    The Strokes / The National

If The Strokes are headlining Latitude would it not put them in contention for Benicassim instead?

  10. A user has posted on the Latitude forum saying that The Strokes have been booked to play there and Efestivals has Lana Del Rey down as a rumour. Done a quick check between the lineups each year and there's always a few crossovers, but never usually more than 1 headliner...

I actually think it’s not a bad announcement. Blossoms will get the indeh students over in their waves, and I’m surprised they haven’t put 1975 as a headliner considering who they have put in the past.

Lana is headlining a massive outdoor show in Dublin and will (most likely) sub at Glastonbury, probably The Cure - so not surprised at all she would be touted as a cheaper headliner... they have an ace card to play yet in terms of headliner.

Have to agree. Yeh its a pretty poor announcement for me personally, but if the 1975 aren't being billed as a headliner then its gives us a bit of hope for whats to come.

Wasn't directly referring to you to be fair, more the general negativity in the thread towards 1975/LDR.

The 1975 would undisputedly be a big booking for Beni despite some people's disdain towards them. Certainly more relevant than anyone they had playing this year.

Huge booking, just not my cup of tea.

There's usually enough for me lower down anyway; Metronomy, Parquet Courts and The Horrors were the highlights last year.

People will moan regardless, was just hoping that Beni would of splashed the cash considering its their 25th Anniversary. But then again i should of known better after their 20th....

  13. 2 minutes ago, ConorC said:

Not sure The Cure/LDR/The 1975 (+ 1 other) would be classed as 'underwhelming'.

Compare them to Pet Shop Boys/LG/The Killers (+ Travis Scott) from this year.

Was making reference to the later announcements of previous years, not this one tomorrow.

Last year there was loads of huge names touring around Beni which got everyone excited..... until we ended up with Travis Scott and Pet Shop Boys -  which IMO is underwhelming.

Ill be back regardless, the last time i went solely on the lineup was 2012, and i've been back every year since!

i’m really hoping it isn’t Lana Del Rey, from what we’ve got rumoured so far it does seem like a weak set of headliners for the 25th anniversary

I dont think Beni has ever announced the full set of headliners on the first announcement, and i cant imagine they've sent out emails to people who voted for acts that aren't in tomorrows announcement. So apart from The Cure and 1975, i cant see any of the others being listed as a headliner.

Beni needs us to come up with ridiculous expectations and buy tickets early before they finally announce a final lineup full of underwhelming acts.

Lana Del Ray being mentioned a couple of times in the replies to their tweet. Wouldn’t be surprised with Drake, continues the recent trend of an American rapper headlining the Thursday.

Lana Del Ray has been added as a rumour for Latitude festival on here and considering the two festivals have shared headliners in the past i think its likely she will be there.

I voted the Cure and got an email - also voted The Strokes and Arctic Monkeys but so did my mates and they never got one.

    Has to be The Cure!

Benicassim Fans also tweeted a poll ages ago with 4 options; The Strokes, Mumford, The Cure and The Arctics, and the official Beni twitter replied with a winking face. So yeh, looks like The Cure!

  17. Beni have been emailing people who voted for an act that is being announced announced. From looking on twitter it seems the majority of people who received this email all had the 1975 as one of their choices, so i presume its them.

I voted for The Strokes 3 times and didn't receive an email. The dream of them playing is crushed for another year.

Thx for opinions, guys! I've been at sziget in 2017, that was not bad, rly great, just seeking another to make some difference. From what I heard, if it's electronic music, Tomorrowland must be great, but I'm more in rock music I think)

If what you're after is a good atmosphere where the partying continues until 7am, alongside a rock centric lineup, then Benicassim (FIB) is probably your best bet. Went first in 2012 and have gone back every year. Its popular with my friends and we use it as an alternative to a group holiday abroad.

If you have anymore questions then please don't hesitate to ask :)

Pinkpop is basically a big concert.

Before midnight everything ends (only an after party in camping A i remember).

    Nothing to do besides music.

    Camping is nothing special.

But yes, if you're into the lineup give it a go :)

Never been myself, but Pinkpop is really a family festival. Visitors of all ages, so also not really a 'party hard' kinda festival. Don't think we really have a festival that fits that description. Down The Rabbit Hole seems closest. Lowlands also always great atmosphere.

Thanks for the info both! Depending on the rest of the lineup ill probably give it a go! Me and my Girlfriend have been to many festivals alone before in the UK and have no problems socialising with other groups etc, just slightly worried that if we were to go PinkPop and the crowd keeps themselves to themselves then we wouldn't enjoy it as much.
