Guess it depends on the act? Or on whether you personally consider seeing the band as "seeing" the band.

ill bust out a few shapes to most things (as well as usually being in a shape myself)

Na, I think you're clutching I'm afraid.  They need to shift tickets, and soon, but I think they are working hard behind the scenes to pull in some decent acts to kick-start late ticket sales, after the awful reaction to recent announcements.  They've got some work to do though, to get it anywhere close to recent years, especially with the big things promised for the 25th edition!   Time is running out for them now.  Could be the worst line up ever, and the end of the festival as we know it, unless they make some serious announcements, incl. a joint headliner for both Thu & Sun nights, and some serious (after headliner) late night Dance/Electronic sets on Fri/Sat.

I honestly cant see them announcing anyone this late of any notability. Announcing any big names this late on is surely a risk as most people who go to Beni would have surely made their minds up by now. Splashing the big bucks now on a big name when its probably not going to make much of a difference to ticket sales would be daft IMO. I personally think they will make a measly final announcement and just happily concede that this year has been a shambles.

  3. Reckon there is any chance that Beni may be holding off any announcements until the Glastonbury resale is out of the way? Never really crossed my mind before, but this year a few of my group who haven't got Glastonbury tickets have said they will come to Benicassim if they arent lucky in the resale...

  4. Is being able to see the stage even a necessity? If i'm watching an act i'm usually having a boogie, so not sure why id need to see them to be able to do this? Add in the fact that when i'm at a festival its probably highly unlikely that i could see as far as the stage anyway.

Wouldn't surprise me if they get added. Hoping for some decent DJ's to get announced, Camelphat and Disclosure (DJ) wouldn't surprise me.

Also would expect Don Broco to be added with them around at the time, would be a brilliant addition.

I've been going since 2012 and i cant remember off the top of my head any band of the Libertines stature being added this late on (besides 2014, but that was a strange year). Unfortunately i doubt we will be getting anymore notable acts this year.

  6. Libertines have just announced a UK gig two weeks after Beni, and with Carl Barat already in Benicassim for one of the propaganda nights then surely it would make sense for FIB to try and book them? They could easily add them onto the Vetusta Morla night and bill them as joint headliners?

Adding the Libertines would surely improve the general negative attitude towards the lineup.

I'm assuming we'll get something next week? Feels like there is still loads to be added.

With what’s on offer right now I can’t see any individual day being worth over 50 euros apart from whatever day Kings of Leon are on.

Hoping for a big announcement next week

  8. Cant help but feel sorry for all those who had committed to this festival under the pretense that it was being held in its original location. Hope everyone affected is entitled to claim any losses back.

For me however, its fucking great.

In the original location it was a logistical nightmare to make the Sunday night to catch the Strokes due to being in Prague over the weekend, but now its changed i am able to fly straight into Barcelona and get to the festival before 4pm. And, to make this news even sweeter, they've gone and added the Smashing Pumpkins to the Sunday. All for 60 euros. And i don't even have to pay for accommodation on the Sunday night as i can get the first train at 7am to Benicassim.

Ok, sorry. I seem to remember on ticket day that someone said that this was the first year you were able to pick Manchester coach times.  I think its pot luck otherwise. Fingers crossed for you, but the end result is the same - YOU ARE GOING TO GLASTONBURY! :)

Exactly! Whatever time i arrive ill have a smile on my face (and a can in my hand)!

I'm on Manchester again - no coach times IIRC.

Last year ours was the coach with the driver who didn't bother turning up on time, couldn't be arsed loading everyone's gear, looked confused when the bags didn't fit, ran a pub quiz on the way down, cracked bad dad jokes, went the wrong sodding way right at the last second and got us stuck in 45 minutes of unnecessary traffic but got us there so was widely loved by our group.

Were you on that coach TheFullShaboo?

I think it was about 9am scheduled departure... got to the site about 6pm ish?!

Apart from the pub quiz, that sounds horrendous. Ours left at 2:00pm on the dot, did have a few problems once we got near the festival but that was it.

I'm pretty sure the coach time you get is based on how quickly you bag a ticket. So in 2017 we literally got through in the final few minutes which is why we believe we were on such a late bus. It also gives me hope for this year as we bagged our tickets by 9:04!

I thought this was the first year that Manchester departures allowed you to pick your coach time???

Did you check the deposit payment email? Mine is from Bristol but it said the coach times on it.

Still no option to pick your coach time from Manchester unfortunately. I'm hoping 2:00pm is the latest as then it means anything i get this year at least wont be worse!

What time did you arrive, out of interest? I'm coaching from Liverpool this year and am dreading a late coach.

We were on site around 8ish. I cant remember exactly as i was well and truly on my way by this point, even my memory of the half way stop is patchy. All in all a great journey!

  13. Just seen whilst paying my balance that the coach dates will be released during the week commencing the 13th May.

Just wondering if anybody knew what the potential times of departure are for Manchester, either for this year or last? Last year we were on the 2pm coach on the Wednesday which i presumed was the last one...

There was a list going around for 2014 but i'm not aware of an updated one since then.
