Do we think there will still be more places coming up or is that it now?

Can’t believe I missed this morning 🙄 have been checking daily but slept in today 🙁
  4. Head towards Rigs field- there was space there last year.
  5. Why don’t you watch Mumfords and then meet your partner afterwards? Or watch half and half ?
  6. No guarantee of a particular car park other than going in a particular route East or West . If your tent is already pitched then arriving mid day Weds should be ok in terms of queues at gate D but no guarantee either.
  7. It’s hard to capture that spirit in words but it’s something special- the reason we all try to get tickets, the utter disappointment when we don’t. The excitement in the build up like Christmas for a child. The thrill of seeing the temporary city laid out in front of you as you arrive. The familiarity for those of us who have been many times and the wonder of it for those who are new. Knowing that for 5 days despite the weather or crowds, you can find a bit of peace, happiness, freedom and friendship. 😃 And gin.
  8. It’s probably those in the campervan fields / B&W or outside the fence tents/accommodation that can’t be bothered to go back. We couldn’t be bothered to go back to Sticklinch during the day so just took a small bag but people can use the lock ups if they have a big bag
  9. Yeah we took one look at the depth of mud then and decided to leave the trolley in the car and use an extra back pack and a second run.

Maybe he is building a rocket 🚀😀
  11. One year I drove about 15 miles from my house to pick up my friend and the kids- packed up the car and headed off. Then a few miles down the road realised I had left my ticket at home so had to turn round and go all the way back to my house and pick it up. Thankfully it we hadn’t got too far along before I realised but it was incredibly stressful and not a great start ! 🙄
  12. Last year was ok during the day a bit hot on Weds but was very cold at night although that might have been me going down with Covid shivers on the Saturday
  13. I wouldn’t be surprised if they do Greenpeace stage and Radio 1 introducing too. They are happy to play anywhere! 😀
  14. Yes but may be limited to certain types. The camping supplies shop sell them.
  15. This one popped up yesterday on Green Futures page - Mandala stage

They are releasing other sold out festivals randomly so I don’t think that’s the case
  17. Avalon is normally chilled - there’s the pub and usually a band on in the new cafe. lots going on around greenfields and craft. Bandstand too - Weds is usually a time to wander about and soak up the atmosphere. The fireworks and opening ceremony are usually packed though so unless you are keen I would give that a miss.
  18. You could try the Facebook group Glasto Gals - I am sure they will have got lots of tips and advice on this subject.

No - Latitude and Shambala have come up again but no Glastonbury
  20. We live about 1.5 hours away - always used to rock up on Weds lunchtime and camp near Big Ground. Since the Tues car parks opened and overnight queues we have had to get up earlier and earlier to get our preferred spot without having to queue overnight ( health issues). Last time we did this in 2019 we ended up leaving at 5.30am, arrived 7.30am in car park east and got on site and camped up for about 10am. Last year due to significant health issues we camped in Sticklinch with the car park next door and a guaranteed space so was able to rock up at mid-day. We missed our favourite camping spot a lot but it did make it a lot easier. We still wouldn’t queue overnight though. No tickets for the first time since 2004 this year sadly - will be weird not having that packing and Glastonbury eve excitement !

Am thinking Cher for legend spot next year?
  22. Yeah having survived 97,98, and 2005 - 2007 was miserable one of the only ones I have been to where it rained practically the whole time and I’d taken my cousin for her first time. By Sunday morning she’d had enough do we decided to take our stuff back to the car and if it had stopped raining we thought we’d walk back down. It didn’t so we gave up and went home - was sat on sofa in afternoon watching Shirley Bassey on Tv with a nice cup of tea having had a very long hot shower! 2016 wasn’t too bad over the actual weekend - it was the thick mud and soggy site due to the rain in the run up which made it so it was a hard slog . I think after that one the festival started to bring in wood chipping.
