Just had something in my eye as it’s watering a bit. Just hit me that I am not there like I am usually every year whilst watching this 😢

I don’t mind the odd small flag or item on a stick like it used to be ( I know!) but it’s the ones with 3 flags on a pole and they are really low down which block everything. Oh the days of just a wolves flag right in my eyeline….

Well I fired up the personal laptop at home to try and watch iplayer coverage in garden which decided as I had neglected it for awhile it was going to update itself. When it finally finished and I logged onto bbc again my audio wasn’t working and I have just gone down a rabbit hole of trying to work out why my audio device is missing 😩 have given up and resorted to going inside to watch on telly. Hateful computer.

Health is priority-it is gutting but best to take care of yourself and focus on getting well. Did you take out ticket insurance? No compensation can help not being there I know but at least you could put it towards next year. Get well soon 🤗

Registered for London and also have midnights pre sale link. Expecting to have as much luck as not getting Glastonbury tickets this year. Also don’t expect to pay same as reputation tour which was £105 for good floor tickets at Wembley 🙄

Given the amount of people complaining about overcrowding last year I expect that’s a reason. Also I expect they would have had a final site inspection today from Mendip council prior to opening so maybe there were extra H&S requirements they had to make at last minute??

Yes - it’s the best place to leave any valuables- car keys, cash, passport, spare phone, spare medication or trolley, cool box anything really - you will need to keep the ticket they give you to get your belongings back - take a photo of it!

There were loads of those event shelter dome tent things last year

Loads of stalls with veggies included and some nice salads at the Greek/falafel stalls/mezze. Also fruit stalls and fruit smoothies/juices. Plenty of fresh food available. And then there is pie, mash and mushy peas 😀

Even if it does rain hard it seems the ground is hard enough to take it plus the drainage is much better than previous years, and they have wood chip these days so I don’t think you have much to worry about unless really heavy downpour leads to some flash flooding but the sun and breeze should mop up any moisture. If I was going I’d be leaving my wellies in the car.

Sadly not - unless you took out the ticket insurance and it met their criteria then unfortunately no chance of a refund. I hope your wife feels better soon 🙁

Yes will be watching on tv - and have kept my leave to relax and chill for a few days. In my head I know if I had got tickets I would’ve struggled this year due to a recent hip replacement and a dodgy other hip so wouldn’t have enjoyed it so much. In my heart I will miss being there ( only missed 2 others since 95) and it will be strange to stay at home. Hopefully in October we will be lucky again and I will have 2 new hops by next year! 🙂

I am trying for my niece who is doing 2 this year ( she’s at IOW now and doing Boomtown) but she is desperate to go to Glastonbury again as we usually go every year. I would sign up too but health issues mean I wouldn’t manage it this year.

You should be able to find water bottles with in built filters that are used for hiking etc - try Amazon or camping shops - they look expensive but should do the job.

Avebury is great as it’s more “open” and less touristy. Standard visiting Stonehenge via the visitor centre is ok but you can’t really get up close to the stones properly. Best time I had was when they did a special arts fire installation in 2012 for the Olympics and you could just wander round - it was really cool.
