Good news - was rung on Thursday by hospital to say they had a slot for my 2nd hip replacement surgery this Weds!! Manic couple of days sorting out work and care arrangements. Have been moved onto the nhs private contract at the local Nuffield in Bournemouth but keep the same consultant. Wasn’t lucky in main sale this year but will still try in resale/volunteering in the hope I am fit enough. The other hip was done end March last year so 2 new hips in 10 months is a miracle! Fingers crossed all goes well again. Wish me luck 😀

I spoke to a family camped near us a few years back - baby was 6 weeks old. There are plenty of people on site to support mum in Kidz camping field with a quiet nursing area etc. only issue maybe noise and protection of ears but baby sling carrier easier than buggy. It will all depend on how Mrs J feels travelling back and forth which could be tiring. Campervan maybe easier /quieter option??

Also worth periodically checking to see if any come back on sale before the re-sale on the Seetickets site

The problem with 2010 was that with it being shown on the pyramid on Weds loads more people arrived early to get set up before the match- queues to get in were horrible in very hot sun 🥵 I think that’s when everyone started arriving earlier to avoid queues on Weds and the car parks were opened up on Tuesday nights ?

Yeah it was torrential rain and we got soaked - it was shown in the old outdoor cinema field. we went round to the NME stage ( Other)after to see Catatonia and Embrace headlining but was suffering from hyperthermia so headed back to the tent to get warm and dry after Catatonia. The Beckham goal was good though 😂

Actually the 2 person scout tents are quite roomy and they have a porch.

Parking is literally the next field so it’s about a 2-5min walk to the gate to get wristbands at Sticklinch, they have people with wheelbarrows to help too. Is a flat walk mostly, smaller site than WV. Showers, flushing loo blocks, compost loos, need more water points and a bar. A few food outlets. Gate directly from Sticklinch into festival- flat but longish walk to main stages - about 15/20 mins to Other. Park and Arcadia was nearest and green fields

Yep they rent the land for anything outside the fence and some fields inside the fence too.

Cost of hiring the fields, cost of infrastructure/utilities/hire of showers/toilets/facilities/ storage and hire costs of tents, equipment/staffing. still cheaper than some of the glamping options and closer to festival. Plenty of free camping inside the festival for those who cant afford it. You are paying for convenience and a little bit of extra comfort I suppose? Not everyone can afford a campervan either.
