  1. Well it was a great weekend overall- weather stayed dry yesterday and today although got really cold with the wind in the evenings. Definitely busier yesterday and they were still selling tickets for today. Yesterday saw McFly; The Devine Comedy; Belle & Sebastián; Mik Artistik; kaiser chiefs and Kasabian - mainly cos I can’t walk too far back and forth! Today saw Courting; Hard-fi; The Go! Team; Dylan ( from a distance) Sea Girls; OMG it’s the Church; Vaccines and was going for Johnny Marr over Mumfords but cold, tired, sore feet and dodgy hip decided to go back to nearby accommodation for a cup of tea and rest instead- god I am getting old !! 🙄 overall much better than previous- no real queues for anything, card machines all worked, food /drink was really expensive though. Came by train Friday which avoided carpark issue or park and ride expense, stayed at Rees Hall which seems good value overall and was next to site. Was our 6th year. Always was a good bet as cheap early birds at £35 per day was great but obviously a lot more now per day. Still not bad though.
  2. Site on Common area is definitely bigger as they have moved the stage back into what was the car park area. Also quieter and hardly any queues for anything. Hugely expensive though- £3 or £4 for a cup of tea. £5/6 for a plate of chips, £12 for wrap or Mac nCheese, £15 for pizza. £11.50 for cocktail, £7 beer. saw Blossoms, Billy Nomates, Circa Waves, Friendly Fires and finished off with Pete Tong Orchestra Ibiza Classics- heavy downpour at end so was glad we only had to walk to Rees Hall to get dried off as soaked through. The wind was a bit cold being by the sea so definitely needs a hoody or coat for evening. Expect it might be just as quiet tomorrow with train strikes. Definitely wasn’t as busy as last year but it might just have been cos it was Friday? Nice not to be camping though- feels very civilised being able to have a hot shower!!
  3. Yep that was the one with the horizontal monsoon wind and rain. Got there late due to storm- saw half of Gomez who had to play under a gazebo on main stage, had a wet burger and by 4pm was soaked through and gave up and went home. The first time there were more people queuing to get out than come in!! Apparently the rain did stop later for The Progedy but we were tucked up in bed by then! 😄
  4. I want to go if we get tickets and even contemplating volunteering but practically not sure I could manage camping again. Am waiting 2nd hip op after 1st one this year. If it’s not done before end January then I won’t be fully back to fitness. In 2022 we opted for Sticklinch as i wasn’t physically fit enough for carrying stuff too far although it was too far west really. We failed to get tickets this year so I didn’t have that dilemma in the end. I might think about a camper van or Lovefields if we get them in October. But I am not sure if I can manage 5 day’s camping when I can’t even easily get down on the floor 🙄
  5. Yep might have something to do with a certain Taylor Swift doing 3 nights in London the weekend before Glastonbury-21 - 23 June - accommodation will be all booked up and /or expensive !!
  6. No but my niece is volunteering with Oxfam and I am dropping her off on Tuesday for an early shift Weds.
  7. Definitely looks more cheerful now for Boomtown next week although I imagine the site /build will have suffered somewhat with all this rain in the lead up - similar to G2016.
  8. Having missed out this year ( no tickets plus a hip replacement end March ), and struggled last year with the dodgy hip which is now replaced, I was hoping to get back to fitness this year. However the other hip is now needing replacement - on the list but not sure how long I’ll have to wait. Very frustrating as fitness is now limited and weight had gone up due to not being able to walk too far. Am gradually increasing fitness but it’s going to be a slow process. First festival since last year will be Victorious again at end of August and first standing gig for over a year will be end September with The National at Ally Pally. Am aiming to try walking/physio exercises everyday to get better movement back. Hopefully will be in better shape by next year!!

Not sure they can assume everyone in a household would only need 4 tickets? My friend got the presale midnights code as she ordered and bought the album for the 3 of us - we all live in separate households and we ended up with 3 Edinburgh tickets. But her housemate ( who isn’t part of our group ) also registered with TM and got codes for next week and will also be looking for 3 london tickets but for him, his boyfriend and another friend. So 2 people in same household but completely different groups. Surely they can’t think only 1 person should get tickets - there are lots of shared households?

No luck with Wembley but got front standing for Edinburgh!! We live in Bournemouth so a bit of a trek- also booked hotel At ridiculous prices going up as I was looking !!
  11. I still think Cher would be perfect - lots of classic hits over 50 years, appeals to range of audiences - ideal for dressing up on a Sunday. Can’t see her performing for much longer at her age
  12. It was a £5 meal deal last year. Still sounds like good value tho
  13. Was hoping that increased security this year would have reduced the number of those getting in without tickets and generally being drugged up dickheads from the sounds of it from what people have been saying? I wasn’t there this year but noticed this alot last year. Overall it is better than some years in the 90’s and 2000 was scary as hell but the festival has felt a lot safer and manageable - until 2019 and last year when the atmosphere at times was less chilled out and more coked out. I do think COVID times had some impact on some group’s behaviour but nothing to do with class. Also probably /possibly more parents who had kids during lockdown thinking going to Glastonbury would be ok with the kids and not realising how difficult it would be with the increased busyness of the site now??

  15. Good luck to all of you getting out the pyramid field now- stay safe !
  16. Can’t remember another headliner that I could sing all the songs along to and I have seen a lot -maybe Bowie? And I am not a great EJ fan and never bought a record or seen him in concert - just goes to show what classics they all are
  17. Yeah and Ray Cooper still bashing out the percussion behind-most of the band have been with Elton since the 70’s
  18. Love to see Elton’s band still performing with him after all these years - Ray Cooper, Davey Johnstone - all growing old together!
  19. Yeah I don’t think he’ll be jumping on the piano any time soon - walks like me at the moment ( I just had hip replacement !!) expect he’ll stay sitting down for most of it.
  20. It’s going to be one of those Glastonbury moments and classic performances that makes me wish I was there- can’t believe I didn’t make it this year 😩 really missing it now
  21. well well I don’t think anyone will complain about his vocals or enthusiasm- sounds great on telly 😀
  22. Overhead camera shows whole field packed!
  23. It’s going to be a drone display according to rumours!
  24. Well some people like it as the crowd looks huge. Also he is managing to deal with Tourette’s whilst playing on stage so good for him - yes his music isn’t for everyone but he isn’t pretentious about it.
