I've got some mates who will going to their first Glasto this year. They will be working in the EE phone charge tent for some of the fest. They are arriving on Monday afternoon.

3 questions -

  1. Will there be anything for them to do on Monday and Tuesday? What and where can I recommend?
  2. There are working on the EE tent is there enough space behind the stalls for all the market staff to camp behind there and will they also be able to take their cars on site? If not where will they have to park and camp?
  3. Will they be able to put my tent up on Pennard Hill before I arrive on Wednesday?

1) There won't be a lot actually open, but there should be a crew bar etc where they're camped, couple of my friends did Oxfam last year so it'll be different for them but there'll be something. Other than that, they should just take the opportunity to explore the site and get to know new people! Most of the main site will be open so they can go up to the Stone Circle or have a wander round and get to know the festival whilst it's quiet. I've been told sitting up at the top of the Park from just before gates open and watching everyone arrive is amazing.

2) Should be a separate crew parking area, not sure about this but just get them to email or whatever.

3) Yeah I doubt that would be a problem, the camp sites aren't closed off or anything before gates open.

They'll have a great time!

1 - the only public bar that will be open is the Bread and Roses - from 5.30 or 6pm Monday and Tuesday -
2 - I am sure I spotted two EE tent's but as I can charge my phone in my crew camp never paid much attention.
onsite car access is very rare - there is various crew parking areas - they will be sent all the details in due course.
as to where they will be camping - they will find that out when they are sent the parking details - they may be camping at the back of where they are working or they may be sharing a crew area with others -
Please note ' not all Crew bars will allow in others ' - it all depends on their pass - some crew bars will issue a extra pass and some will not
3 - Officially No but if they are smart then they can get away with it as long as they put the tent close to a cluster
I arrive on the Tuesday and there is loads of tents up but which are campsite assistants and which are not I would not have a clue.
