About time a new Wickerman thread was started for 2014, anyone got any news on line up releases ? Cant be long till the first announcement now surely.

They got some in early last year, pretty sure primal scream were announced early feb to try an move some tickets. Heres hoping but like you say paul, yeah theyre usually a bit later with them.

Aye you're right, Primal Scream were announced 16th January, then next announcement was 8th March.

mmmmmm. Hopefully not headlining. Not great at the Barra`s on Saturday but for sure still got the tunes for an evening singalong. Wonder if an announcement might be due in the next couple of days.

Hi everyone, long time lurker here!I'm glad someone has started a Wickerman 2014 thread. Looking at the announcement dates last year, Primal Scream were indeed announced in January but the main chunk of main stage acts including the second headliner Amy MacDonald was announced in the first week of March. Wickerman seems to have a lot of crossover acts from Kendal Calling so hopefully when Kendal announces so will Wickerman!

I'm crossing my fingers for Travis and for a long shot maybe Madness! Anyone else have any predictions?

Not sure if there will be as many crossovers this year, last year kendal and wickerman landed on the same weekend so it made it convenient for bands to play venues pretty close together on the same weekend. Think theyve made the right decision to split the weekends again so theyre not in competition with eachother for punters. I did both in 2012 and plan on doing the same again this year as do a few people on here.

Im still convinced they only released the Primal Scream announcement so early to try and sell some tickets early before the Kendal announcement came out featuring Primal Scream playing over the same weekend.

As for predictions i could see them plugging for either one of Franz Ferdinand, Deacon Blue or Travis. Not sure about Travis but i know the other 2 are touring this year and would be perfect fits for the Wickerman crowd

Excellent predictions ramragon! I wouldn't be surprised if two of the three bands you suggested i.e. Travis, Deacon Blue or Franz Ferdinand headlined on the Friday and Saturday nights with Big Country and maybe the Fratellis who are touring again sub-headling. As much as I enjoy rampant speculation I can't wait for the real announcement, fingers crossed it will be soon!

Inspiral Carpets announced for T in the Park. Saw them in an evening slot at Kendal Calling 2 years back. Could do a job in the same slot at Wickerman. Hoping Chvrches and a few others on the T line up do Wickerman.

Yeah they were pretty good in that slot, decent support but wouldnt want them as headliners. Could see the crowd going mental for the fratellis as well, never seen them do a decent set yet personally but they do some bouncy numbers to get the crowd going

Shed 7 or Reef would also be a fair bet. Always some decent stuff in the scooter tent. It`s been a couple of years now since Bad Manners and Bombskare are there nearly every year if you like that sort of thing ( whats not to like ) !

Wickerman have answered our prayers and announced on Facebook that the first announcement is on Friday so we don't have long to see if our guesswork is any good!

Am I right in thinking that they usually announce at midnight?!?
