I like men to take control and so do most of my girl friends. don't take anything to the date unless its small enough to fit in a handbag flowers or booze are lovely but a nightmare to carry round all night, and buying earrings or something is a bit over the top.

Just take her out for a few drinks and then suggest getting something to eat, and even if she offers to go halves pay for everything!

"Here's some flowers for you. Their radiance matches the beauty that I see before me. And as much as it pains me to take their radiance away, I shall ask the host of this fine establishment to put them in the sink in the kitchen for the remainder of the evening ...."

No need to apologise Seef.

Just that most girls I know prefer to go out with men, rather than a wet fish!

I didn't apologise for Peev.

I don't see how how buying a small gift for your date if you are serious makes someone a wet fish. Next you'll be telling me that you don't pull wouldn't open the flamin' door as you walk in, you'd expect her to do that!

Right i'm off to uni now...but look forward to reading this discussion later. I think it'll be good to see the different points of view from men on dating.

Re dating:

If a girl really likes a guy she loves it when he spoils/treats her.

If a girl isn't that into a guy she finds it annoying when he spoils/treats her.

Nobody likes a wet lettuce in any situation though. Get some balls and a backbone and all is good in the world.

I think I'm still pissed.

Totally agree with this. But why would anyone go on a date with a guy she isn't into anyhow? Waste of time. And certainly in Remote's case I think she's tuning him, so I don't see anything wrong with it at all. If not their next meeting, the one after that.

Which is why all men should be mind readers and know exactly how much a girl is into him, amongst other things, before doing anything.

If she likes you and you do something for her then you're being sweet/charming, if she doesn't like you then your just being sexist!

Surely if a girl isn't really into a guy then she shouldn't go out on a date with him anyway.

I found myself thinking of an incident last summer, I was talking to a very nice attractive girl that I worked with at the time, and the subject moved on to films, and it transpired that neither of us had seen the Bourne film that was out at the time. Going by the way the conversation went I now realise that she was trying to get me to ask her out to go and see the film, but I was completely oblivious.

    • Audrey Hobert getting a lot of traction lately and new single on Friday. Wonder if she could be round next summer.
    • Think Pulp are optimistic, not in terms of size but just that they've been on the road (albeit not intensively) for 3 years in a row and it feels like EotR is the deliberate end of the cycle.   Would be fairly surprised if they're active next year.
    • 👍 plus they brought their own screens 📺 either side of the stage.
    • Production was the only thing that could even explain why she would back out. Like they had sorted out the financials and she was fine with it and then a production meeting happened. It all fell apart. It was very clear that she was not going to compromise her show one bit and then that show in Brazil pretty much confirmed it. There was like one element they couldnt pull off outdoors, but it was negligible since the rest was a carbon copy of the tour she had been on. Glasto is not willing to make any bold changes on the Pyramid stage so then theyre kinda stuck in terms of what some acts want/demand. I think the easiest solution to that is putting her on Friday. You deal with the changes for one night and then re configure for the rest of the weekend. In 24 they were fortunate to have had Dua and Coldplay on Fri and Sat so they could both use the b stage. But I think it was removed for Sunday?     I saw a random rag article earlier that said Olivia Dean turned down Glasto BECAUSE her ex ( not even confirmed dating ) Harry Styles was playing the fest. hahahaha
