WWE are bringing back the WWE show 'Superstars' from April next year, not sure if it will be a recap show or brand new matches, but it's getting a prime time slot in the States, so im guessing brand new matches, reckon it will be taped with Smackdown, as ECW is with Raw

Because they're idiots, when Cena first broke onto the scene on Smackdown, he was at his best, then they took away his attitude and replaced it with a fake one, I have nothing but respect for the guy though, he is truly WWE through and through comes back from injuries asap, does so much pr, seems a really nice bloke and down to earth and would do anything for the fans

FANTASTIC POST PM!!!

I agree one hundred percent

Case in point Orton was cheered nearly out the building last night and he's meant to be a, if not the biggest, heel on Raw, the other - Jericho was also cheered so much, the only who isn't is JBL and thats simply because his act is stale as f**k and he's shit in the ring these days [really though he pretty much always was, he's had a fantastic career for someone so average]

Orton is at a crossroads now, where he really could go over a become a massive thing, they've used Cena so badly, yeah he sells merch and yeah he's over with the kids, but he's no Hogan, and they've screwed up the chance of him becoming the next Rock or Austin, im not sure theres anyway back with his character, fans have been exposed to how fake his character is for ages now, back on SD he did seem like that was himself, his raps he reeled off came so natural and fans bought into it, now he's just reading scripts and is so black and white, he's boring the f**k out of everyone!

we need WWE to go out of control with Austin you never knew what he was going to do, he was exciting to watch because he would come down and beat anyone up, he would push the envelope, he'd destroy cars, he'd smash anything, he was raising hell all the time, Cena is soooooo dull

Orton needs to get his gang of thugs and just dominate the roster, cus WWE are making his gang seem a biyt like pussies, they need to gang attack and dominate, TNA is doing this so well at the moment with the Main Event Mafia, this past weeks TNA was a great main event where the bad guys kept Joe locked in a cage by himself and took him apart, the fans buy into this, Angle is such a over heel its believable he will do anything to win, to be the best, TNA is such a better product than WWE right now, because they are still pushing the product, seeing how far they will go, they did the angle where they broke Joes arm in the cage, last week they broke Team 3D's Brother Ray ribs, its believeable, Orton's heel gang are getting beat by Kofi on his own, f**king stupid

Anyway rant over

I can remember the exact promo when Cena was f**ked.

It was at some point in 2004, when he came out and said that everyone in the crowd was part of the Chain Gang. He then stormed around the crowd, and gave a t shirt to some kid and the kid went "you are so awesome!" and from then on he was f**ked. Because he was seen as a wrestler for children. And because people didnt want to be in the f**king chain gang.

just me that was glad to see trish back then? no ringrust lol.

And cena needs to drop an innocent kid to the floor with an f-u or something, because it just doesn't work as a face. Doubt he'd be going back to the rapping though, since they seem hell bent on making the product squeaky clean. Either that or just get shane o mac back as a gm for a couple of months, gotta be better than shit like the khali kisscam.

Trish Stratus is back?

Worth watching that crap just for her.

Has she done her playboy stuff yet?

Trish88.jpg

John Cena needs to take the microphone, cut a nasty, vile promo against the crowd, and then decapitate a midget, signifying the end of the bullshit-era of WWE.

This is what I dont get.

Vince McMaon has decreed that this new child friendly way is the way forward. Now, Raw starts at 9pm Eastern Time. So a0 which chilren are going to be watching it and  which kids companies are going to be paying for advertisements at that time?

So they are developing a product towards kids, even though its alienating there audience to provide for an audience ho cant watch anyway. Fools.

Anyway, I cant wait for tonights UFC. Predictions:

Wanderlei by TKO

Big Nog by TKO

Rashad on Points

Any night with Wanderlei Silva is a great night.

I can't watch UFC tonight cus I have my son, but maybe watch it tomorrow

I agree Liam, Vince wants to get back to the days of Hulkamania, it just isn't going to happen though, his best business was in the attitude era, and it was for a reason, reasons that Vince seems to have long forgotten

The thing is, Hogan never kissed the arse as much as Cena does. If you think about it, Hogan was quite stand off ish, he never slapped hands, never dove into the crowd, rarely threw stuff into the crowd. His interviews mentioned the fans although mainly in passing, but the key thing is this. Hogan, at least at his 83-92 babyface peak, was rarely booed by the fans, and it was never audible.

Conversely, Cena is booed out of the building week in week out. And this has been going on for years now. Yet every single promo is about how great the fans, sorry the WWE Universe is. Its utter bullshit and any person above the age of ten isnt going to fart on that.

I remember the Raw after wrestlemania 22, when Cena came out and said people though eh should just come out and tll the fans that they suck and in the end he didnt, and did ANOTHER promo targeted towards ten year old boys. And it just came across as lame.

If you think about it, Steve Austin had a four year run as top face (although in the scheme of things he was behind Undertaker, Bret and Shawn for most of the year). And even then it was only 3 years because of the year off he had. Cena has ben a top face now for four years, at Wrestlemania it will be four years since he won the title (Ok, minus 6 months for injuries, but even then its just for short periods) yet the Cena face push shows no signs of abating. The majority of the fans dont like him, and yet no one sees the possibilities for the amount of heat the man could get.

I suppose the only thing that counts against the turn Cena heel argument his how lame his offence is, But if he's in feuds with Shawn, Orton (who is going to have to turn face next year), CM Punk, Rey Rey or Undertaker, its not really going to matter.

The thing is we all know it would be so easy to turn Cena heel and he would be over huge as a heel, and I bet he would love to play that part, wretlers in general in interviews etc have always said they prefere to work as a heel, WWE needs to trigger it, its what everyone would want to see

WWE comes far far ahead of anyone in this category just for how f**king brilliant it was week in week out for the first four months of the year. TNA is obviously nowhere, what i saw of ROH was good, but you can see why Sapolsky was sacked.

Here's my reasoning.

In 2008, no one came close to Shawn Michaels. If you think about it, the feuds with Flair, Big Dave and Jericho cover the time from February to November. He's also almost making the TNA esque feud with JBL work as well, which is a miracle, and will probably give JBL his best ever match at Wrestlemania. Week after week he delivered in the ring, with MOTY candidates against Jeff Hardy, Jericho (at least four), Cena, Big Dave (the match at One Night Stand was just a perfect big dude v small dude match), he hauled Ric Flair to his finest match in fifteen years (at least) at Wrestlemania, put in a brilliant performance in the Royal Rumble and the Elimination Chamber and was also the best babyface promo in the business all year.

Edge was great, but hindered by limited opponents. His matches with Undertaker were often great, but the feud with Big Dave seemed to go on forever, even though it only went on for a month. 3 months off was the best thing for him and by god did it come across on Smackdown.

Jeff Hardy is an idiot for getting suspended but a brilliant year in the ring when given a chance. The feud with MVP was good, but did get a bit tiresome. Like I said, his match with Shawn on Raw was brilliant, and the match when he dropped the IC title to Jericho was also very good.

Other contenders for me were Randy Orton, obviously. His heel persona was outstanding, and its a shame it was wasted on a lifeless feud with Hunter before he got injured. CM Punk had a good year in the ring, shame he was killed by the booking crew. Undertaker didnt have a bad match until Survivor Series, I remember a great match with Festus of all people on Smackdown, and when he put Jeff Hardy over. Its a shame he's almost finished and that there is hardly anyone on Smackdown he can feud with, although if they get it right, his feud with Umaga should deliver.

Outside of Vince land. Joe is a great great talent, but TNA dont know what they are doing. AJ is constnatly fantastic but TNA dont know what they are doing. Kurt Angle is a walking miracle but TNA dont kow what they are doing. Christian is one of the best all rounders around and will hopefully get a chance on Smackdown in feuds with Jeff Hardy, Edge, Undertaker. On the undercard Petey Williams, both MCMG, Jay Lethal, Abyss (who has clearly now given up) all have the potential to be great but TNA wont give them a chance for what reason.

As for the great feuds. I can think of nothing not involving Shawn, Orton or Edge that was more than good. Joe v Angle could have been great (and was, for a month) but TNA had to f**k it up. I did like the Jimmy Wang Yang and Shannon Moore v The Miz and John Morrison feud on ECW. You dont really see feuds like that. Its a shame Finlay didnt get a match with Vince McMahon, because it would have been nice to see Vince just take a beating. The feud over the midget had far more heat than it had any right to.

Shawn v Flair. I was thinking about this today. The whole Flair retirement thing I would have done differently. Dont get me wrong, the six weeks of matches and promos with Shawn and Flair were unquestionably brilliant, but I would have done this. Flair should have beated Shawn at Wrestlemania. Backlash should have taken place in greensborough (the heart of Flair country) where Flair should have challenged Hunter (who should have won at WM) for the World title and then lost. But it was still pretty damn awesome.

All TNA feuds, bar Gail Kim v Awesome Kong were an utter waste of time.

More later...

hmm well I agree with a lot but you can't really put Jarrett in as overated he's retired and came back for one match in 2008, just one match, and he's the man in charge much like Vince, he isn't going to be seen in a shite light really is he, I really like the way they handle Jarrett's return since he did return [the build up was UTTER shite] but ive always been a Jarrett mark, he's always been a solid wrestler who can talk as well

Spoilers here but just checked out TNA's website to help refresh my memory a bit for the year end awards and just saw the card for Genesis PPV looks pretty decent

TNA world title match - Sting v Rhyno

long awaited rematch - Kurt Angle v Jeff Jarrett [good build up for this they haven't rushed it]

six man tag - AJ Styles, Mick Foley & D-von v Booker T, Scott Steiner & Kevin Nash

TNA knockouts title Lumberkjack match - Awesome Kong v Christy Hemme

on paper that looks very good

    • It was great, but I don't know why they continue to play Wide Lovely Eyes and Rings of Saturn, which are the weakest of the tracks off both PTSA and ST. Well, I do. It's cos they're about Suzie, so he can sing what he wants. They're the low points of the set. The rest is ace.
    • I didn't this time, but I've seen them before and just because you saw both that night doesn’t mean you can compare them. The Stones were great, but.you didn't think so and you went somewhere else looking for a good time and you found it. For whatever reason you didn't like it, but you were an outlier and all the reviews said they were great.
    • Annie Lennox could be the one to unite the whole forum, nobody has a bad word to say about her, even noted curmudgeon Skip 😄 I'd probably even amble along for a bit meself, and i'm also a miserable sod
    • If the below link works - thats interesting.   While I don't particularly put much stock in that account as a source (never seen it before though, tbf), and I can pick a hole or two (see below) in what he says - the timing of it is a week before I had the Fontaines '27 stadium info (same stadium he says on there, Tottenham). The info, or part of it, matches up.   Holes I'd pick: I'd have to watch again but I THINK he says 'end of year' for Tottenham - not possible, for a number of reasons, though he's probably just got his words mixed up there. It's Summer '27, or that's what I've been told. He also says Glastonbury is/would be based on how the album does. That doesn't stack up to me, unless it was a 2028 thing. I suppose that could stack up, i.e a verbal agreement for 2028, but still seems a bit of an odd approach. I would personally still expect it to be 2027 alongside the stadium gigs, IF they are gonna do it, though I've still not got a Scooby when the album is gonna drop, only that the tour is due for Spring (or early) next year.   Interesting, nonetheless.   https://www.instagram.com/reel/DaOB3Q9qkwW/
    • I was hoping that they would just do a tour like they were set to in 2020, rather than having Download as their UK appearance. If they are at DL, I would be surprised to see them headline. I think they sub under Deftones or SOAD
