FRIDAY

KAISER CHIEFS - Fun end to the first day

N.E.R.D. - Good to have a boogie to and a few pints

KT TUNSTALL - Meh

THE HOOSIERS - I'd like to say I'd be sitting in the sun listening to these guys but will need to be in the Strongbow Tent for my sanity. Utter pap.

JOE LEAN AND THE JING JANG JONG - Heard a lot of good things and like the sound of what I've heard so far

THE ANSWER - Dunno em yet, but heard some positive murmurs

SATURDAY

SEX PISTOLS - Interesting...Could be amazing or dogs**t. Or a bit of a weird non-event. Expecting the latter.

IAN BROWN - Can't wait - one of the best festival acts around, especially if he liberally sprinkles some Roses tracks...

IGGY & THE STOOGES - Awesome energy - gonna get the beers in and get psyched for King Monkey watching these.

THE ZUTONS - Probably the most fun you can have at a festival. Top.

THE ENEMY - Again, can't wait. One of the best new bands about.

KATE NASH - Guff when I saw her last, but perfect for sitting off in the sun to.

TBC

AMY MACDONALD - Heard good things

ONE NIGHT ONLY - Quality live - saw em few weeks ago, shame they're so new, would have played higher.

BLACK STONE CHERRY - ?

LOCAL BAND TBC

SUNDAY

THE POLICE - Awesome at Twickenham.

THE KOOKS - Would liek better if I hadn't had Naive rammed down my throat for three years. And it's better than Keane in this slot...

LILY ALLEN - Get well soon - another one will be cool sitting off in the evening sun with some bevvies.

JAMES - Looking forward to these guys. Hugely underrated - it's not all about Sit Down

STARSAILOR - Ace at V a few years back - perfect time for them to be on as well.

SCOUTING FOR GIRLS - Oh my god. The ACTUAL sh*ttest band in the world. EVER. Apart from maybe Hard-Fi. And the Feeling.

NEWTON FAULKNER - Pretty inoffensive

DELAYS - Not fussed

Welp, just listened to Newton Faulkner's album and all I can say is zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz. I gave him a chance but he came over as mediocre, all of the tracks just seemed to meld into one long song.

Next on the new list....Starsailor, will let y'all know.

BTW who will be joining me for Mojitos in the Bacardi bar when the Kooks are on? They were sh*t in the mid-afternoon slot in '06 and they're still gonna be sh*t in an early evening slot.

    • Primavera refunding day tickets which are probably a negligible percentage of attendees yesterday.
    • Thursday day tickets being refunded. Fair play.
    • I’ve had a good sleep and I feel weirdly zen about the whole thing.   My first Primavera, so not the greatest first impression. I guess today couldn’t be any worse, right?   Thoroughly enjoyed Men I Trust and Geese. Cupra is a beautiful stage and the crowd seemed fun, friendly and engaged.   I think it probably could have gone even worse, considering how dangerous the crowding felt at times.   Anyway, we go again.
    • Brighton centre is a weird old venue for the Mary Wallopers - a great band, a really good live spectacle, and its a saturday night as well which sets it all up - but its at the bloody Centre? a charmless nonsense of a conference centre? Brighton dome is a ten min walk away and is so much nicer a place to see bands its ridiculous!    ah well, i'll probably mosy along anyways . . .
    • So bad honestly. I get that bad weather happens but their communication was non existent. When you're managing crowds of tens of thousands of people, it's just not good enough. I left when Massive Attack was cancelled (the first time) and it genuinely did feel unsafe trying to get out. No one knew what was going on, people still sitting in the ground when there were hoards of people trying to leave, no crowd management at all...   I've been to PS enough times to know sometimes you need to just roll with it but this was way worse than "the bar queue was 30 minutes long".    Today will be better but still feel super disappointed.
