off my trolley

I'd always say plan to do it in a single trip. Not only do you waste less festy time, but you also avoid the temptation to leave stuff behind on the Monday.

As it is, I went on the train last year, so I was forced into keeping things simple. Spirits not beer, compact lightweight sleeping bag, but a few heavy luxuries - camp chair, proper inflatable mattress, 5kg pop up tent. Worked out fine. And we beat our car-bound friends home by five hours. :)

Also have one of these- thought it was a bit pricey at the time but has been really useful for carrying stuff, with added cushions and fairy lights makes excellent night transport for little Thatcats and a comfy sofa in the tent. :)

I am not allowed to even think about a trolley untill after t-day, may be bad luck. But I am looking at either a golf, or carp trolley as someone at work will fix boards to them and increase the carring capacity. Had one a golf trolley last year all boarded out, tested up in the Shropshire hills, nicked with my car, tent, beer, vodka, air bed and other bits and bobs I think it was the trolley I miss the most as it could have worked so well last year.

Thougth I have seen some remote control golf trolleys on ebay how cool would that be no pulling mearly glide your load to your campsite.

So hopefully off to a car boot on Sunday to look for a sutable means of transport.

For our first trip to Glasto in 2005, after having read some advice about using trolleys, I bought a cheap sack truck. It was dry on arrival but very bumpy ground, and the wheels started to wobble and one came off completely on the way IN! So a complete waste of money. Lots of short trips carrying small amounts was excrutiating! When I went last year we bought a carp trolley from Argos, strapped everything onto it in advance in the back of the van so when we arrived we just wheeled out the trolley and got going! On the way back the fat tyres made a big difference getting through the mud, past people struggling with sack trolleys sinking everywhere.

It's a definite plus! Also it folds down to fit in your tent easier than a sack truck.

Just my two-penneth!

Thats the same as mine (except mine's yellow), i've drilled a couple of holes in the front of the base plate so i can attach bungee cords to it and up to the bars at the top, used the same one for loads of festivals and it's been great. If anyone else is considering a granny shopping trolley or similar don't bother, this is what you need.

This is my glasto barrow. Ive brought it to 3 glastos now an its never let me down. The handlebar is the part of the trolley that normally holds the wheels. It unbolts as do the wheels. put it in the boot and assemble when we get there. I can usually carry my stuff and my mates with very little difficulty. This year im gonna adapt it to pull my kids around in relative comfort. Have a ago at making one there are loads of trolleys in rivers and ponds that can be salvaged.

I tried taking a decent sized sak trolly last year, but it was still a pain to lug around and keep everything on it fastened saftly. This year, we are taking the car and are going to make several trips instead. There's a group of 6 of us going, so between us I think we will manage it comfortably.
