Kendal Caling newbie - what can I expect?!

Hey! I'm attending the festival for the first time and really excited. I have a few questions if anyone can shed aome light?

 

We can't buy Thursday tickets so we will be arriving in the morning on the Friday. How long can we expect the queues to get in? (For both general camping and deer lodge camping)

 

What time do the acts start on the Friday? 

 

I have a spare parking pass at deer lodge. Can I give it to my friend who is in general camping? 

 

How rigorous is the search on entering the arena? Ei will i be able to sneak in a bit of vodka in a pouch hidden in my knickers? Haha!

Can only help with the start times, it'll be midday on Friday based on previous years. Hard to know about queues but traffic is always an issue for Kendal so you might want to set off early. 

 

Not particularly rigorous on the searches, though depends on the time of the day! People don't get patted down

I'm returning for the first time since 2017...back then you could easily get vodka/bacardi/gin etc into the arena in one of these...just put it inside your shorts/trousers/jean etc & attach it somewhere using the clip...I did it back then.

Just remember to put your vodka into a plastic bottle before you arrive...glass isnt good as you'll have it confiscated if your car gets searched on arrival (random searches)
