late night music

It seemed to me that most late night bars seems to play very similar dance / electronic/ techno type of music

Which bars or places play different type of music eg rock / alternative/ indie etc..?

the bar around the outdoor circus field used to play pop/ indie music, but that changed in the last couple of years - with the subsiquent numbers of festival ppl reducing

The Rabbit Hole used to have a variety of stuff with some good up and coming bands playing in there.

 

I'd expect The Wishing Well to be similar.

The Theatre and Circus area has some small venues that turn into more late night music/ cabaret stuff that always offers something different.

Taphouse is great for anyone wanting Indie music until late. Good fun, nice vibe. It’s around Left Field though, not Circus (or was last year at least)
