bungee cords v. tie downs

I feel like Pablo

I'd go with bungee cords all the time. You can wrap up really tight. I'd also follow that up by wrapping cling film around the whole thing several times to make it even more secure. I've always gone for a 4 wheeled pull along trolley as they are a bit easier.

I agree. also most of the trolleys aren't either. You see loads that are broken and just abandoned. I bought a sturdy 4 wheeled truck in 2007 and I've used it every year since. It's still going strong. People don't realise how far you have to walk and the terrain that you have to cross.

Plastic storage boxes are your friend! Pack your stuff in them them, bungee them to the sack truck, trying to bungee lots of smaller random shapes always destined to wriggle free from your straps.

Yup this! - Sack truck with Coleman at the bottom, plastic storage box with camping kit in the middle, and tent/more booze/something else - bungeed at the top.  Rucksack not overweighted so doesnt irritate me!

wow thanks for the responses guys!

we've bought both bungee cords and tie downs in case one or the other fails. will definitely be purchasing plastic boxes to carry things in and have some industrial strength shrink wrap the nice delivery driver at work gave me (which will be responsibly disposed of)

have yet to try attaching everything to the trolley but hoping it goes well as really don't want to be those people with the falling-apart trolley with stuff strewn everywhere that you see every year.
