Are there any drop off points on the main road between Glastonbury and pilton

No that road is temporarily designated as a clearway for the duration of the festival, meaning if you stop for anything other than traffic or an emergency the driver can be fined. The local authority criticised the festival last year for not enforcing this strictly enough so it's likely they be enforcing the tragic rules more strictly this year.

 

If you're comming from the direction of Glastonbury town is recommend getting dropped off at Glastonbury town hall and taking the shuttle bus from there, they depart on the hour and cost £4. Alternatively there are shuttle bus services from Wells and Shepton, all these options are likely to be quicker and les busy than the official drop of point at the Bath and West showground.
