So aye, I'm heading for Brisbane next year, with plans to head for the Gold Coast for my birthday. Started saving for it. When do they start making announcements for this?

August I believe. That's when the first raft of Aussie summer fests seem to announce. Decent smattering of heavier acts set to embark on tours next year so should go quite well.

Just seen that it's actually Brisbane rather than a Gold Coast leg. Excellent and much better for me.

I'm hoping for a headline two of System of a Down and Metallica.

It looks like they may announce the line up earlier this year, in a month or two.

Apparently it will "sell out instantly" according to the promotor, so a band like Metallica or Sabbath are probably likely.

Just a heads up, not sure if you know or not, but the dates have been moved for next year and it's now in late January.

Aye, 23rd is the one I'm looking at. I've already got the money set out for the ticket itself. Reason I'm going is that it's right next to my birthday. Probably wouldn't have bothered if it was the usual time of year.

Apparently Refused, Halestorm, Violent Soho, Bullet for My Valentine, Mayday Parade and Parkway Drive are looking quite likely for this.

The promoter really wants Sum 41, Billy Talent and NOFX as well. He wants a lot more than that, but he seems quite positive about those.

My big cousin used to work for the organisers. They were desperate for Kanye West at the time. Strikes me as odd. But they also want The Killers, so who knows.

Kanye West has actually been confirmed by a Soundwave promoter after he gave away his Aussie tour dates.

There is no way Kanye will play Soundwave. Him headlining Big Day Out a few years ago was a big reason it was overtaken by Soundwave. Non Rock/Metal headliner bookings don't seem to do as well in Australia for these sorts of festivals.

Certainly the intial tweets from Kanye West on the dates of his shows were.

Okay, having had a better look confirming the fool, I'm gonna predict Black Sabbath now.

The way AJ talks, he doesn't seem to like having guys there who haven't got new material since the last time they played. And Sabbath haven't played before which stops that problem.

System of a Down still don't seem to have much of a timeline for theirs.

They said they wanted Tool if they had new stuff, and it would appear they'll have new stuff. Obviously they're not a tens of thousands level headliner, so I don't really see them being a big headliner, but can certainly see them near the top of the bill.

Looks like Lordi and Bring Me the Horizon are as good as confirmed for the festival now. Not sure what to make of Lordi really, but I'm a fan of BMTH so that's a good one to add to the other near as confirmed ones.
