The war on drugs...

First of all you're going to have to excuse me if this was covered in the other drug related thread, I have tried reading through the bulk of it's 62 pages but I think this is a different sort of discussion regardless.

Drugs aren't illegal in this country as far as I'm concerned, and I've always found it really interesting how little pockets of society (for instance at festivals) are able to get away with taking drugs so openly.

The law has such little influence on whether people take drugs (especially addicts), so I believe it should be addressed. Stop criminalising addiction, and treat addicts with compassion, I just think it makes more sense.

We've given prohibition a fair crack of the whip now, and just like with the alcohol, it doesn't work. All it does is create a black market where by people can make A LOT of money, and in making so much money destroy so many lives in the process.

Nice sentiments, but wrong thread I reckon.
